Ending the Rebellion or restarting it differently

Greetings and salutations,

From Marquis/General Liam Devlin:
First, Dulinor's daughter Isis, while found clear of wrongdoing resented the fact his Archduchy of the Domain of Ilelish was placed under Strephon's Gushemege Ducal Brother-in-Law (Iphegenia's brother). Whatever fiefdom's she had by way of her mother she retained in reduced form (She was reduced to a subsector Duchess on Dlan).
In delivering the Emperor's message "fall on your sword", Prince Lucan is sent as an Imperial envoy to the Archduke. Isis will not forget that day..
Marquis-General Liam Devlin, I like the way you and your co-GMs have handled the Rebellion, but I have questions about events in your TU.
</font>
  • Who ordered Dulinor to "fall on his sword"?</font>
  • Who appointed Strephon's brother-in-law to the Archducal position of the Domain of Ilellish?</font>
I am developing my own version of the Rebellion and plan on incorporating few ideas that have been bandied about in this forum and more when I purchase MJD's Out of the Darkness.

Wow, Liam, I am in awe! I forgot to comment with all the Virasa stuff going back and forth, but to me it looks like your group has the best handle on how to take the OTU and shape it to your needs.

Just nice, incredibly interesting plotting there - in some ways better than the OTU!!!

1.) The order to "Fall on your sword" came from the Emperor Himself (Strephon), delivered by Prince Lucan who as an imperial envoy of stature could not be denied entrance. It was because Strephon had appointed him as an Archduke personally, the decision to do it also had to come from the top.

2.) Seeing that Dulinor's administration of the Domain had led down the rod to Cyril & the Trans-Reft debacle, and genocide against a sentient race, Strephon looked closer to home for someone to trust with administering the region. He chose his brother in law, a SubSector Duke of Gushemege, to replace Him.

"Princess" Isis was set aside, as the subsector duchess of Dlan.

Hope that helps Marquis Deadlock!

JF on behalf of the above mentioned co-Gm's, thank you sir, and a great thanks once again to MJD with his opus to date, 1248, OoTD on which I was privileged to help with in many ways.

I am currently trying to figure out ways the Virasin faith "survived/morphed/ got twisted about" into the New Era, including those who fled to the region our gamers are now playing in...

My alternate ending was quite different:

The PC's eliminated Lucan, intimidated Margaret, and Convinced Norris to put Dulinor on the throne in 1120 or so... Norris was little help. But by sucking in Margaret and eliminating Lucan (They used psionics to be able to kill him and get out), they brought enough leverage to allow the moot to regather.

Being members themselves, they of course weaseled a lot. End result: the moot gained a veto over the Emperor, and Dulinor got the Job.

TRS was a clone, and marked clearly as such by special markers. And the lack of testes (geneered testosterone glands replaced them... prevents royal bastards off the clones!) One quick medscan, and the clone was deposed by the moot. That leaves a few other areas that needed mopping up, but the campaign ended there.

The projections, however, were to first reclaim and rejoin the majority held at the moot. The Reft CP route suddenly becomes far more important. The Ziru Sirkaa was basically going to be readmitted as an Autonomous Region, much like the Vegans. Brzrk was going to be forced back. Daibei and it's duke likewise. Then, and only then, send the naval forces which capitulated off to fight the solomani.

IMTU Rebellion will most likely end with the release of Virus. (I like apocalyptic superweapons, ever since I saw the planet eater on Star Trek). Unless, of course some enterprising PCs manage to stop Ilelish and Capital from tearing Charted Space apart with an ever-increasing scale of warfare.

Liam,

That's a very interesting idea, but one that would involve a major thread-jacking.

Accordingly, I've started a new thread here

Have fun,
Bill
