Favorite Rebellion alternate ending?

No, more to do with being unificationists, while Norris was a separatist. Norris was a close personal friend of one of the PC's (Homeworld= Regina, Service=Noble, Starting rank=Baron, ending rank=Duke), said duke having been "Court Duke of Regina", the duke assigned to run Regina SS for Norris when he stepped up to being the Archduke. It was a political game from hell...

The PC's were made aware, as background, of Dulinor's reforms, and Norris' parallel reforms in Deneb, as well, and also the players knowing about the right of assassination. One quick encounter with Lucan was all it took; they were sent as part of the Marches delegation to the moot, and holding proxies for half the imperial dukes of the Marches. Upon finding the Vilani separation, Lucan's insanity, and other factors, their choices were Norris' separationism AND democratism, he was not a viable long-term choice.

That leaves Dulinor, Margaret, Craig, Warnier, "The Real Strephon," and Brzk. Brzk was unacceptable, not due to speciesism, but to flakiness. Craig and Warnier likewise to Norris are separatist. Margaret is out based upon her ties to SSOM (another PC was cybered, lightly, but cybered). The "Real Strephon" lacked credibility, in part due to not being willing to attend the moot; they later executed him for treason against emperor Dulinor.

Neat. I find it fascinating when folks run campaigns at the "noble level," partially because it is so rare, but also because very interesting things tend to happen...

It was a fluke...

BTW, the house rule: On Soc 12 rolled, roll 1d on the following table:
1-3 +0 soc
4-5 +1 soc
6 +1 soc and roll again

Gents,

Just a little in the way of explanation here...

As kind as peoples' comment are regarding the material, I always feel some chagrin when 'Wounded Colossus' is mentioned. That's due to a few reasons.

First, the idea never got played. It was just a bare outline of a way to avoid the increasingly distasteful Rebellion. I wanted to coax my gaming group back to RPGs in general and Traveller in particular. And I failed in that! We never really returned to RPGs. :(

Second, the WoCo text was posted in several installments to the TML. That's why the text repeats itself in places, I'm recapping materials from earlier posts. I also typed it directly from my old notes into an email form with no spelling or grammar checks. That really shows up. I still wince at some of the gaffes.

Have fun,
Bill

You could always re-edit, consolidate, de-repeat and spell-check it - remember that your variant is quite popular, so alot of people will be very grateful to see a better version of the text

I'm not going to use it, but I like it nevertheless
