Would you be interested in purchasing such a CDRom for $40.00?

But, you can also either keep the newly won items as original collector items, or quickly try to sell them to a person who doesn't know that the CD-ROM is coming out.

All of the legal stuff on my copy of MTJ 4 says DGP. Lords of Thunder was originally going to be published as a stand alone by Seeker Gaming Systems (the Deck plan guy) but that fell through and DGP published it in MTJ 4. Depending on how Mr Keith sold the work it could still be in play.
You're not reading your copy carefully enough then ;) For MTJ3 and MTJ4 all of the text is clearly labeled as being copyright GDW. The artwork is the only part copyright DGP. This has been discussed before and verified as correct, and it's the reason why QLI was able to incorporate the background material from MTJ4 into their T20 Gateway Domain Sourcebook.

Given that GDW (and therefore Marc/FFE) owns the rights to these, it's a shame they won't be included in the CD-ROM. Perhaps Marc thinks it's too much trouble to remove all the artwork and graphics (at least some of which would need to be replaced for some of the articles to make sense), or perhaps he's just forgotten (in which case please consider this a friendly reminder: if it's feasible to include them, the text portions of MTJ3 & 4 would make a very welcome addition to the MT CD-ROM :D ).

This would be an excellent idea.

Now, I must confess that as I have already done this with my own copies, I might not purchase a copy... but it is so useful, particularly if you do much writing (no rummaging through books, just have a 2nd window open) that I'd thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

Another company for whom I write agree with this: we are all issued with PDF copies of all the appropriate published works. I wish more companies would make material available in this way.

Mexal.

/me goes back and re-reads fine print with old man glasses on... uh yep - you are, of course, correct sir!

I also notice tht the artwork remains under the artist's copyright.... so if one cared to get their consent then the art could be used as well.
