MegaTraveller CDRom?

Would you be interested in purchasing such a CDRom for $40.00?

I'll buy whatever ships, but I'd pay a boatload more $$$ for a hardcopy of those four books.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see TX be and updated MT, incorporating contacts, and an initiative system like TNE's, and some of the good stuff from FF&S/FF&S2. (While I can and do adjudicate interrupts fairly well, it can be QUITE the pain to explain!)

The Pen/Atten/Damage system was a reality point I've always loved.

Is Packaging Important (this will not be sold in stores)
Hmm, how would you/he sell it outside the US? Direct mail off a website and then international shipping? Any chance of a download?

[Without wishing to be rude, I don't really like your shipping options/prices to Europe.]

Would it be possible to do these as facsimile PDF reproducions like the old TSR products available at SVGames?

If that's too expensive, then I guess plain text PDFs would be OK by me. CD-ROM or download is fine by me for distribution.

Jim.

Just to add an addendum to my previous post. Any unlicensed art from the originals could just be left as a blank space in the reproduction (like you get with preview PDFs).

As a purchaser of some of those ESD's that could be a good idea in general for Traveller reprints. However at about $5 a book, the propsed $40 for 12 books on cd-rom plus Challener articles and perhaps (one can hope) some extras is a better deal.

Hmm, noticed that Bastion Press (who do the TSR/Wotc ESDs) still has the Twilight 2000 books listed on their master release schedule as ALL CALL meaning "Products listed with ALL CALL in the located section mean that we’re asking for help in locating these products."

Aren't those files just scans of the TSR material? That's not what's being discussed here; the proposed MT CDROM would represent a much more useful product. Each of the MT products listed would have to be scanned in, then OCR'd so that the text could be searchable. If the plan is to produce facsimile versions, then all of the text will need to be laid out again - a potentially huge amount of work, but much better than a bunch of scans, IMO.

Clarification, in general I support having Traveller books made available as OCR (or whatever it takes to make the text searchable etc.) pdf files for sale at places like svgames, rpgnow, and travellerrpg. I can't remember if all or any of the WotC ESD's are OCR at the moment but the concept was good (keeping oop product still available). Too bad they pulled the plug on any more non-D&D ESDs.
