Kickstarter Books? Are they still shipping?

Also, I noticed from earlier posts in this thread that a couple of non-US destinations arrived w/o notice, and one of those was to Dublin. I recall you said you are in Cavan...

Yes that's right. I am situated about 50 miles North West of Dublin.
Maybe the package is en route and indeed I won't get any email confirmation.
I paid through PayPal and my email address is linked to that account, so if, as Aramis has pointed out, the shipping email is automatic then I should receive an email.
With this knowledge I can now assume that the package hasn't yet been shipped. If (to quote Marc on June 18) my "order is working its way to the front of the queue. I expect to ship this yet this week.", then maybe the last few days are being dedicated to shipping the outstanding web orders.
It's all guess work on my part.
June 30 is the deadline which Marc mentioned in the last KS update and that is the only information I have to guide me.
You can see from my emails to Marc (earlier in this thread) that I have been as polite as possible and in no way have I been demanding.
Somebody suggested contacting Marc again, but to be honest, I don't want to hassle the guy any more. I'm sure he is trying to finish up with the shipping and trying to reply to other emails too.

I said I wouldn't, but I sent a quick email last night asking if it would ship this week and Marc replied within minutes.
I got a shipping confirmation this morning.
Marc, if you should happen to read this: I thank you sir
I just told my kids the good news and they are doing a merry dance around the house.
Cheers

I'm sorry that such an active participant on this board found himself at the bottom of the shipping queue. Congratulations on joining the ranks of the Monolithed.

Thanks Jazzlvraz, It's okay. As my mum always used to say to us: All good things come to those who wait.

I've got 3 kids here who are extremely excited. The 4th kid (me) is the most excited of all.

Cheers :)

A game store in Canada has two Traveller 5 books on its shelf for $100 each. I didn't ask which one. About 3 hours from Montreal.

My core book arrived today from Noble Knight. It was posted last Friday. Less than a week from Wisconsin, USA to Cavan, Ireland.
The package from Marc is on it's way so will probably take a similar length of time to arrive.
I intend to sit down later tonight a have a look through it.
All I can say, after a quick glance, is that this book is fantastic!!
I know there is some errata (from reading about it here on CotI) and I know there are folks who don't like this or that, but I intend to get the basics learned and up and running for our summer adventures with the kids.
Once we have the basics down we can build on what we have.
Absolutely delighted with it.
Bravo Marc, Don, Rob and all who contributed to this project.

I like your spirit... It gets me hope !

Éli,

Éli,

I have just spent an hour or so skimming over the 3 sections I need to get to grips with: chargen, tasks, combat.
I understand the concepts and I can't see any problems putting these into action.
Admittedly, I like to keep things as simple as possible as I'm going to be teaching my kids. I won't be going for the 'simulation' approach so any fine details will be skimmed over (for now).
The lack of an index is no problem at all. There is a table of contents so I can find the chapter I need. I'll also be making notes in a separate notebook with page numbers for reference.
In general, this is a magnificent piece of work and all who contributed to it should feel very proud.
It looks like Classic Traveller in its layout and I'm so glad that there are some familiar illustrations from past versions.
I photocopied the character cards earlier so I can get to work on some sample chargen. I think I'm going to have to order the CD-ROM so I can print out some of the other fill sheets.
Overall I love it.

I have mine, too- about a week back. I promised myself I wouldn't say anything until I had it, especially in the argumentative sense - and now, from what I see, I'm going to not be participating in the discussion by virtue of reading it -which I am truly enjoying. Much more rewarding that taking on an argument that has gone back and forth for 10+ years, on either side.

Still, I want to thank those (such as S4) who added a lot of actual review and potential fixes to their critical opinion of the work; and to those who said "I like it" and not much else, thanks for keeping the morale up in the face of a very few who ....well, lets just call it are comitted to a battle for implementing a pre-determined reactionary narrative.

Now. On to design a gemini medium interceptor to fight that pesky Soyuz orbital bomber...... :)

I 'second' this.

Alsp, when the final errata document is published I will print it out and either stick it in the back of the book or I'll write the amendments into the book.

I will put them into the book, but I also plan to fix the pdf up properly as well. Print out a new copy for a (big) Binder, put the book on a shelf to keep it out of harm's way.

I don't have the PDF, although I should really order it for the ability to print out the fill forms.

So I will either keep the errata doc in the back of the book or, buy a black pen and a bottle of Tippex
