Kickstarter Books? Are they still shipping?

Still eagerly awaiting news of whether Baltech Budapest has gotten his yet. He hasn't posted for awhile; perhaps it arrived and he is busy reading. :)

He got it.

First of all, I would like to wish all of you in the States a happy Fourth of July. I hope you enjoy the celebrations.

I won't forget the date in a hurry because my package arrived today (Traveller 5th arrived on the 4th).

Give or take a few hours it is 3 months to the day since I originally ordered the book. A few weeks later I ordered the dice set.

The first thing I did this morning was wake up my 13 year old son as I promised him that he could open the package. It must have been a funny sight to behold, the 2 of us, 2 little kids jumping up and down with excitement.

My son carefully opened the well sealed box and inside was another box containing the book. Also inside the main box was a padded envelope which, I assumed, contained the dice set.

Our excitement turned to absolute glee and we yelped and high-fived each other at what we found inside the envelope:

Not only the dice set, but the T5 CD-ROM and a small bag containing 4 extra dice (1 of each colour), 2x 25Cr coins and a Patent Of Nobility Card.

Even as I type this, over 2 hours after opening the box, I am still trembling with excitement!!

The Patent Of Nobility Card reads:
KNIGHT OF THE DOMAIN OF DENEB, SPIN 3123, NADRIN, D420203-7

I am so truly grateful to Marc for sending these items, and for personally signing my book. I haven't mentioned opening the book as I have been reading my son's copy for the last week and I knew what to expect. Needless to say we opened this last but will get many, many years of joy out of it.

The dice are really superb quality. I think they are 19mm and they are nice and heavy with machined numbers in Imperial starbursts.

The CD-ROM is excellent and contains not only the T5 PDF master text file, but individual PDF files of the Core Book in bite-sized page counts. It also contains JPEG files of all the ships from the colour section of the book, JPEGS of various logos from FFE and GDW and (I love this) RTF font files for all the text and graphic design used in the core book. Finally there are 2 separate JPEG files of the Character Card (front and back).

Only yesterday I was contemplating ordering this CD-ROM as I will need to print out many of the forms and it would prove very difficult, and possibly damaging to the spine of the book, to photocopy many of the pages. As it happened I couldn't order the CD-ROM yesterday as finances wouldn't allow it, so I am delighted that I have this. It will prove invaluable to me over the next few months and years.

Phew! That's it. Now we have 2 core books in the house. My son can relax in the knowledge that I won't be 'borrowing' his copy to look through, and I can relax knowing that my copy will not be 'borrowed'.

I would just like to finish by saying thanks very much to everyone involved in this incredible project. Your hard work and dedication will provide many more years of gaming pleasure to my family.

Cheers

Matt

Got mine a couple of weeks ago.....the track and confirm shows it only took 7 days from dispatch (26th June) to arrival!

Not had time to digest much of it yet....so much to take in!! The dice, credits and nobility cards are pretty cool along with the BBB and the CD Roms!!!

Most impressed and very happy to have been a part of the Kickstarter project......now to go check out T5!!!

I placed my order shortly after 10pm one evening, the USPS confirmation email was sent at 6am the following morning, and I had The Tome in a week. Excellent response time. I was post-kickstarter and ordered from the FFE website.

So is he still shipping kickstarters?

I'm trying to be patient but what to make sure it wasn't missed before trying to contact Marc.

Contact Marc. Marc doesn't read the forums, except to respond to specific call-outs by Don, myself, Robject, and a couple others. Even then, he almost never responds on the board.

Does anybody have any info on a second run of Nobility cards ? Also, at least one was missing (the knight o iridium throne for betas). I'm loath to pester marc after all this, especially if there is an actual schedule or place to request corrections....

Cool, I missed that. Here's hoping that he and his kids are busy playing Traveller and thus not having time to post on CotI! :D

Hi guys,

Sorry I missed reading these posts somehow.

Yes I received the package (as you found out).

I have since ordered and received another dice set for my son. Marc was kind enough to include a TAS member card in that package (much to his delight, and to the envy of his father).

We are really loving Traveller5. Okay, there are many aspects of it that we haven't got to grips with yet and there are some sections which are quite hard to understand.

For our first mini adventure next week I have decided to stick to the very basics. I have printed out The Fighting Task on page 218 and laid it out as a strip of paper (5 to a sheet of A4 paper). I have done the same with the Task Format on page 130. Whenever a task roll is called for, or combat occurs I am going to hand everyone a strip so that they can fill it out themselves. It will help everyone to understand the basics of task resolution and personal combat.

I haven't yet read the maker sections well enough to actually make anything in time for next week so I have downloaded robject's CT to T5 weapons and armor conversion (thanks rob, much appreciated).

As our experience with T5 goes further we will begin to incorporate some of the more detailed rules into our game.

This book is really excellent. Every time I open it up I read something which makes me excited. I will be making notes (I should have started already) of page numbers with reference to interesting bits and pieces.

I hope everyone else has received their package at this stage.

I know I waited a while but I have to say that it was worth it.

Happy Travelling :)

What all were the Beta disk purchasers supposed to get in addition to what was gotten via being a Kickstarter supporter?

I was a $150 supporter. I also had purchased the beta cd years befor the kickstarter. In my package was The book, One cd of the book, two 25 credit coins, four Traveller dice, a TAS membership card, A Knighthood card (no specific Knightly order), and my Viscount Patent of Nobility. And that was all.

I ordered through the website back in February. Last I heard, it was supposed to ship June 1, but that's not happened. I've emailed Marc a couple of times, but I think he went on vacation after all the KS books got shipped :\

Still shipping. Got my book today -- signed by Marc AND Emperor Strephon -- and a pile o' dice, a handful of coins, and a fair number of TAS memberships and patents of nobility.

Sounds about right... :) Well, one Knighthood, one Patent of Nobility and one TAS. Not where I expected, but I'm not to complain.

Same here. I just sent an email asking if I've been forgotten. Truth to tell, I felt like a bit of a worm doing it because I suspect Marc bit of slightly more than he can chew with this Kickstarter thing... But still, it's a lot of money I paid for a book to not arrive. More than I can afford to simply write off.
