Kickstarter Books? Are they still shipping?

And we shall ALL breathe a great sigh of relief! :D

Haha, I know I was a pain in the a*** the last few weeks over it.
I think I have actually managed to turn my wife into a Traveller fan in the last few days now that she has seen 'THE BBB'. She is officially drinking her morning coffee from my Traveller Referee mug

All's well that ends well

Just ribbing you. ;)

I'm sure there are many lurkers who appreciate your posts about the progress of your order, as they may be concerned about the same things themselves even if they don't post about it.

(It always seems odd to me that so many of those viewing this site at any given time are visitors rather than members; I'd think that someone interested enough to read the site would sign up as a member - it's FREE, after all!)

It's funny though, looking back over my posts, because some things you say in person and the moment is gone. Say it on a forum and it's there forever. I read back over my posts and was very embarrassed by them, so much so that I created a thread to apologize. It needed to be done.
I was a member of Mongoose forums around 2010-2012 under a different name but I don't participate anymore. Not because I don't enjoy that forum but because I deleted my old email address associated with that membership and in time I forgot my log in details.
When I was an active member over there I used to visit here regularly but as I wasn't a CotI member I had very little access. I held back from joining as I felt, in my own mind, that I wasn't enough of a Traveller 'junkie' to join. I had only re-discovered Traveller in 2010 through the Mongoose version after about 20 years in the wilderness. From then until now I have collected all the CT LBBs and JTAS issues and by January 2013 I felt I was 'ready' to participate here.
Maybe the guests on here are similar? Casually interested in the buzz that T5 has generated?
Who knows.
I'm glad I decided to join CotI though and I shouldn't have left it so long.
I log in here every day (multiple times a day in some cases) and every time I do I learn something new.

First of all, I would like to wish all of you in the States a happy Fourth of July. I hope you enjoy the celebrations.

I won't forget the date in a hurry because my package arrived today (Traveller 5th arrived on the 4th).

Give or take a few hours it is 3 months to the day since I originally ordered the book. A few weeks later I ordered the dice set.

The first thing I did this morning was wake up my 13 year old son as I promised him that he could open the package. It must have been a funny sight to behold, the 2 of us, 2 little kids jumping up and down with excitement.

My son carefully opened the well sealed box and inside was another box containing the book. Also inside the main box was a padded envelope which, I assumed, contained the dice set.

Our excitement turned to absolute glee and we yelped and high-fived each other at what we found inside the envelope:

Not only the dice set, but the T5 CD-ROM and a small bag containing 4 extra dice (1 of each colour), 2x 25Cr coins and a Patent Of Nobility Card.

Even as I type this, over 2 hours after opening the box, I am still trembling with excitement!!

The Patent Of Nobility Card reads:
KNIGHT OF THE DOMAIN OF DENEB, SPIN 3123, NADRIN, D420203-7

I am so truly grateful to Marc for sending these items, and for personally signing my book. I haven't mentioned opening the book as I have been reading my son's copy for the last week and I knew what to expect. Needless to say we opened this last but will get many, many years of joy out of it.

The dice are really superb quality. I think they are 19mm and they are nice and heavy with machined numbers in Imperial starbursts.

The CD-ROM is excellent and contains not only the T5 PDF master text file, but individual PDF files of the Core Book in bite-sized page counts. It also contains JPEG files of all the ships from the colour section of the book, JPEGS of various logos from FFE and GDW and (I love this) RTF font files for all the text and graphic design used in the core book. Finally there are 2 separate JPEG files of the Character Card (front and back).

Only yesterday I was contemplating ordering this CD-ROM as I will need to print out many of the forms and it would prove very difficult, and possibly damaging to the spine of the book, to photocopy many of the pages. As it happened I couldn't order the CD-ROM yesterday as finances wouldn't allow it, so I am delighted that I have this. It will prove invaluable to me over the next few months and years.

Phew! That's it. Now we have 2 core books in the house. My son can relax in the knowledge that I won't be 'borrowing' his copy to look through, and I can relax knowing that my copy will not be 'borrowed'.

I would just like to finish by saying thanks very much to everyone involved in this incredible project. Your hard work and dedication will provide many more years of gaming pleasure to my family.

Cheers

Matt

If that's the case then I'm free to order a set of the dice. I wanted to wait until all the kickstarters had their books to do so.

The dice are really excellent quality, nice and heavy.
There's 10x Black, 2x White, 2x Red and 2x Yellow in compact but sturdy black box.
On the inside of the lid there is a stamp of approval which reads:

"APPROVED - Norris, Duke of Regina"

The Dice are really nice.

I don't have that approval stamp in mine thou?

I was hoping that after everyone got their Books we could purchase additional Dice, Coins, Jump Drives etc from FFE.

Keep faith and you shall be given...

Please don't despair...

There is some disruptions around some XBoat routes
but be sure your BBB will be delivered !

I got mine and pretty happy about it !!!

Mayday! Signal GK!

Help!

Hello Marc or Marc's assistant: I have sent several private emails to farfuture@gmail.com over the past few days to reach you regarding my Kickstarter order package. I have *not* received anything and am trying to figure out what has happened to try tracking it down. I thought I might be in the last 20 but waited until everything should have arrived to try reaching you.

Would someone here please let him know that I am trying to reach him? Many thanks.

Marc will look into it tonight.

Also a post-Kickstarter orderer who has not gotten his book

Hey all,
I'm sorry to say that I am another of the post-Kickstarter folks who ordered a $100.00 package via Paypal order that hasn't yet received anything. I'm guessing there were many of us who emailed Marc for a chance to receive the Kickstarter deals, after the Kickstarter ended. I don't know whether to hope there were legions of us or not. I'd like to think Marc's success staggered even his phenomenal imagination, but I also hope there were few enough of us that he isn't facing another monumental shipping task. I emailed the farfuture gmail account, and am anxiously awaiting a reply :D

Still in the running for the ultra low lottery.

... but chances are that it arrived after I left for a short trip out west. I'll figure it out when I get back into town.
