DGP and all that

As a matter of interest is there a distinction in US between indictment (in England = criminal charges) and Suit/writ/summons (i.e. civil claim)? Its interesting as the language is the same but the jurisprudence seems slightly different.

Yup.

One files a civil suit.
A criminal charge is levied either buy the state prosecutor on behalf of a victim, or by a grand jury fed evidence by the prosecutor. If the grand jury returns a finding of "Sufficient evendence for trial on the following charges:" that is the bill of indictment.

Americal jurisprudence is a derivative of English common law. in fact, a few pre-1700 brittish cases have been cited as precedent in some US cases. Rare, but it happens.

Did anyone every own the DGP/GDW GenCon Discussions on VHS? Or is another example of vaporware? As I cannot see it on Swordy's of stuff...so if Swordy doesn't have it, not likely many will...

The video tape exists, I've seen it but don't own it. Where to get it? At this remove I have no idea (but I wouldn't work too hard at it, it wasn't that extraordinary).

Its a shame that DG had a falling out with MWM. DG has brought tremendous value to Traveller. It would be nice if they reproduced their products on CDRom.

Digest Group didn't have a falling out with Marc Miller. They dropped Traveller with GDW's announcement of The New Era. Shortly thereafter they folded up shop and sold the rights to everything to Roger Sanger.

Roger Sanger was never 'in' with Marc Miller, and never was willing to meet Marc's requirements for a license. Without a license, no one can do anything with the DGP material.
