We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
To be honest, this is something I have never really thought about. We talk aclot about what characters do in a heroic sense and the starships that they travel in. Somevof us (including myself) like to create our own worlds in the Traveller universe. When it comes to food, that hardly ever gets a second thought.
I think that the Imperium is a very large and diverse place. Foods will vary according to the tastes and cultures of the varoius planets (and even regions) of the Traveller universe. Forcthat reason I dont think that there is a most common food. In terms of beverages, that would have to be water becaues it is needed to stay alive. How it is flavored will depend on the local cultural norms. I thibk that cerials and grain based foods will be fairly universal, but again, local customs may mean many variations in how it is presented. Traveller's long life bread or biscuits? Something that could keep in a starship's storeage
Cram, from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Not to be confused with Lembas, which is tastier and more nutritious.

Once tech is high enough, there's probably going to also be something completely nondescript but carrying a name like Basic, Gloop, 'Mite, Sludge, or some such; essentially, a mostly-balanced mixture of nutrients in a liquid base, probably thick enough that one could press it to become solid, and a Certain Amount of it will be literally "sufficient unto the day" - emergency rations aboard a ship or when 'adventuring' out where even the middle of nowhere is a bustling urb in comparison to here, or 'daily prole ration' for dolists on a poor world, or...
