General What is your most common food or drink in The Third Imperium?

Bread and water, I'd guess.
But I imagine food varies widely across the hundreds of worlds of the Imperium.


I am fond of including slig meat, from the Dune universe, but I wouldn't make it something you find everywhere.

I was just reading about Traveler's Stew in Dungeons and Dragons.

I would think Traveller would have something you can order throughout the Imperium.

A 'Traveller' Stew of sorts.

Are Astroburgers common enough to get anywhere?

People mentioned Sola Cola a while back.

I hear about Groats, but that might just be in the Spinward Marches. Groat burger, groat steak, etc...

What do you have in yours?

To be honest, this is something I have never really thought about. We talk aclot about what characters do in a heroic sense and the starships that they travel in. Somevof us (including myself) like to create our own worlds in the Traveller universe. When it comes to food, that hardly ever gets a second thought.

I think that the Imperium is a very large and diverse place. Foods will vary according to the tastes and cultures of the varoius planets (and even regions) of the Traveller universe. Forcthat reason I dont think that there is a most common food. In terms of beverages, that would have to be water becaues it is needed to stay alive. How it is flavored will depend on the local cultural norms. I thibk that cerials and grain based foods will be fairly universal, but again, local customs may mean many variations in how it is presented. Traveller's long life bread or biscuits? Something that could keep in a starship's storeage
