I'm going to be starting a new Classic Traveller campaign, but I didn't want it to be within the confines of the Third Imperium itself. After some time poking around on the web I think I'm going to set it in the Crucis Margin sector, however, I'm a little confused...
Whose data on the Crucis Margin sector is correct, Judge's Guild or the HIWG? As a rule whose data do y'all use?
Neither is offical canon. The Judges Guild material was decanonized, and the HIWG was never official. I suspect most people don't wander that far out from the Imperium.

Have you noticed that the new CotI webzine-site has a map of Crucis Margin up? I assume this is the new 'official' version, whether or not it matches the HIWG version (possibly) or JG (almost certainly not). Note that the map itself isn't much (sub-Atlas of the Imperium), but clicking on the world icons gives world names and descriptive UWP info. Presumably this will be expanded in future QLI sourcebooks, etc.
Or on a more devious Referee note, pick both. Keep the one you like for yourself, and give the other to the players. When you come across a difference, call it star charting discrepancies. Could even lead to the characters getting money for reporting the difference to the authorities. He he he, the Referee wheels are turning...
