T5 Errata Thread

Page 80. Homeworld-1. Homeworld. H. Hydrographics. Clarification required:

As of errata v0.71 Hydrographics are Flux + Atm - does this mean that the Atm-based DMs are no longer needed?

They still apply. I'll add a clarifying note.

Page 431. A. Worldgen Checklist. Elements of System Data. PBG Population.

As of errata v0.71 Population Multiple is 2D-2, rerolling "0" results. This may yield a 10 as a possible result. But a ten shouldn't be possible as that just means a multiple of 1 of the next higher Population code. To prevent this, add "also rerolling "10" results.

This 2D-2 method also yields weighted results, tending toward "5" results.

I therefore suggest using 1-9 Even Distribution from page 31.

I'll pass on to Marc.

Character Sheet misspells End as Edu

p. 106, Character Card T5-001 (for humans):

The UPP, on the top right of the Character Card, and the DNA section, top right of the Character Card (Back), misspelled End [C3] as Edu. So there are 2 Edu's by mistake in the characteristics.

(Same for the inside front cover reproducing this sheet.)

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

What about an .FDF file ... It is a file that has corrections, annotations, etc, it can be imported into a PDF file, simplest way that I've found to keep up with changes. I've started working on one, but have only scratched the surface.. I'm looking for a way to script the changes in; without having to do it all by hand.

Standard Sensor Packages (p.383)

I don't remember if anyone has mentioned this or not, but on p.383 (Standard Sensor Packages), at the bottom of the page, there is a table that lists standard sensor packages for a given TL. Standard-12 and higher lists the Standard Active Sensor as "Scanner-12/13/14/15", respectively. In the Sensors descriptions on p.341, 384-385, Scanner is a TL 19 device. I believe this is supposed to be "EMS/Electromagnetic Sensor-12/13/14/15", respectively.

Master. A Master individual is qualified to perform virtually all tasks within a skill. He must show the ability to succeed at a Staggering task.
To Show Skill for Experienced Certificate (Absolute 1 hr)
Staggering (5D) < Characteristic + Skill

The underlined Experienced should be Master.

Cramming. A character may study prior to the test (the goal is Good Flux as a Mod). Thus, a character with C+S within 5 of the required value can benefit from cramming the
night before the test.
To cram for a test
DIfficult (3D) < Characteristic + Skill
Study materials required.
Success allows Easy Flux Mod on Certificate Test

The underlined Easy should be Good.
The underlined DIfficult has an extra capital 'I'. Should be Difficult.

Difficult (3D) < Tra + Trainer\

Slash shouldn't be there.

Hybrid K-S-M (S-K-M) & Weapon Code-X

On pages 342 & 343 (Table A, respectively - Weapons / Defenses):

Hybrid S-L-M (L-S-M) is listed on each, but Hybrid S-K-M (K-S-M) appears to be missing from the table.

Also, on p. 392, Weapon Code X is listed as Hybrid K-S-M, whereas in the tables on pages 342 & 343, Code X is listed as AM-Missile.

Perhaps AM-Missile should be changed to Code Z (which is unused) on the p.342-343 tables (and added to p.392, where it does not appear), and Code X redesignated to its original p.392 K-S-M rating.

Ga, He, Hi, Ni doesn't exist in the Random Trade Goods tables.
So they can not be used to roll for Imbalances. Not to bad for items with multpile Trade Classifictions.
Should there be a Default table? Even with no Trade classifications a world will produce some goods for sale.

Starship maintenance costs

Hi folks,

I've scoured the T5 BBB for any details on starship maintenance costs ... either per month, annual or any other period .... Other than the detail for fuel costs on page 360 I can find nothing ....

In addition there are multiple references to 'annual maintenance' on pages 52 (living costs), 320 (Gravitic drives), 377 (fusion overclock) but no where is this term defined from a cost perspective.....

What is the relationship between armor value on a personal basis and starship armor value? Alternately, what is the relationship between 1D of handheld weapon damage and 1D of starship turret damage?

page 590. Daghadasi entry. The third paragraph has a parenthetical entry probably should be either removed or updated.

The fourth paragraph notes the creature is Vfast and VStrong, which contradicts the table on p. 588 (Xslow, Strong).

Page 591. Use of the term "profile-13" is not explained. Profile should be "flat"? It's not hard to figure out, but can be confusing if not familiar with the rules.

Near Standard density is also not explained, but easily figured out.

page 335, difficulties for jump plates repeats difficulties for jump bubbles' first paragraph. I suggest you delete the first paragraph as extraneous since there's already a defined difficulty in the next paragraph.

Should perhaps be Tz as the WorldGen TCS tables have it as Tz.

Low Berth Efficiency

p.625 Low Berth Efficency

typical quality (=0) is a six-month duration.

As per p.194 quality should be =5 which is Average with a period of 6 months.

Education for non-humans.

p. 100, Education-1 (Clarification): Something I just noticed that College and University have a Pre-requisite of Edu 5+ or 7+ which means Sophonts with C5 = Tra or Ins always have to make a Waiver in order to attend College and University which kinda bones those Sophonts.

Also, when a Sophont with Tra graduates from College do they get Tra +1 or do they just get the Skills/Knowledge?
