Solomani Ship Prefix

Frewfrux

SOC-12
Do Imperial and Solomani ships (Solomani ships in particular) have any standard prefix's? Like "U.S.S. Enterprise" or the "H.M.S. Gallant" or what not? I tried searching the T5 rules for examples but couldn't find any. (I *was* only searching for Solomani ones, granted, so I may have missed any Imperial ones.)

Four letters is a bit cumbersome. Ideologically Solomani is a lot more important than Confederation, so:

SNS? (Solomani Navy Ship)
TNS? (Terran Navy Ship)

Ships operated by SolSec might be SSS.

From Canon:

INS: Imperial Navy Ship
ISS or IISS: Imperial Scout Ship (TNE and T5-Murphy Class Scout Deckplans)
TGS: Trade Guild Ship (T5-Beowulf Deckplans)
TCS: Terran Confederation Ship (GURPS: Interstellar Wars)

From FASA:

ISCV: Interstellar Commercial Vessel
ISPMV: Interstellar Para-Military Vessel
ZISMV: Zhodani Interstellar Military Vessel

I am not aware of Solomani Confederation prefixes.

Humaniti's Majestic Ship

more likely:

Solomani Confederation Ship

That would be my choice for most military...

But I'd also expect SPS - Solomani Party Ship – for the party's network of couriers and fast transports.

I think that the Party piggybacks on the Confederation Navy's courier network.

Their intelligence arm operates independently, so may at least officially, prefer less of paper trail by explicitly identifying their ships.

Each planet or sub political entity has it's own nomenclature describing military and mercantile vessels.

So there is an emphasis on Star? I'm pretty sure common usage combines that adjective with it's noun.

Navy is still silly, but I'd prefer that over Star.

These appellations tend to empathize what the owner thinks it's important for everyone else to know.

Her Majesty's Ship(s) was to differentiate what belonged to the Crown and what was a private ventured paramilitary ship, and later exactly to whom the crew pledged their loyalty to and exactly whose sphere of infuence and/or control now extended in local waters.

My take on the Solomani military is that they emphasize on Confederation, the Party likes to remind to whom it may concern, that they can be omnipresent, if not omniscient.
