MegaTraveller CDRom?

Would you be interested in purchasing such a CDRom for $40.00?

It would be nice to see MT and other products on CD.
Like TNE or 2300AD. How about all of the Challenge issues!

For me, I dropped MT because of the time required to do starship design. I liked the CT 15 minute ships.
But I use MT material and TNE material extensively
in my campaign.

You know, Savage, I felt the same way about starship design. But recently (and in fact on a different topic here) we worked out the MT starship components in High Guard numbers. It looks like MT design is HG expanded and disguised, so after translation it doesn't look to be all that bad.

Robject - after working out the above is it possible to do a MT lite starship design - i.e. book 2 style design instead of the HG + Striker system that was put forward in MT?

Elliot -

That's what I'd like to do, or see, or contribute to. Let me find the related posts and perhaps we can extend that thread over there.

Note: Probably the result will be like a High Guard update, with options from MT retrofitted back into HG, although the retrofits might be generic enough to apply all the way back to Book 2.

OK, first off, some background reading gets across a wide range of objective observations and subjective feelings about most of the systems. This ought to be required skimming, because there's useful information scattered about. These posts are a couple years old.

Citizens of the Imperium » General Traveller Discussions » The Fleet » High Guard, not perfect, but good enough

And here's the topic I'd suggest we post to:

Citizens of the Imperium » Other Versions of Traveller » Classic Traveller » High Guard 3

Or, alternately, maybe we ought to create a new topic; something in the Classic Traveller forum, perhaps a pithy title like "Low Guard" or simply "Book 2 Improved"...

Spreadsheets are the key to success in whatever game system is produced. Most people just don't have the time to design fleets... so I'd suggest that whatever is done a spreadsheet is sold with the product (or downloadable for an additional fee.

As for MT. I now own all of it. cdrom's would still be nice. I'd buy it. When travelling to gaming its easier to carry nice compact products instead of books.

It looks like all the books are going to be available as eBooks starting in June or July, based on the news item found on the home page of www.travellerrpg.com - Hunter indicates that Marc Miller is pursuing such an action for all non-CT sourcebooks he has at his disposal.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

And with cd-rom burners being dirt cheap and even dvd burners down to a reasonable price, putting any "ebook" versions on a single cd or dvd for use in a game should be easy enough assuming the digital rights management if any isn't set too high.
