Marylanders... Roll Call

I've noticed a few Marylanders here. So just for the heck of it, I figured I'd do a Marylander roll call.

Here I am. Sitting in Columbia.

Grew up in the Gaithersburg area, but I've since moved & am now in NC. I do visit my family in MD every few months if that counts...

Sure. Though my intent was I was thinking maybe of looking to get together with some of the locals to see Star Trek XI at some point, then talk Trav, or possibly looking to recruit some players for either a game of Federation Commander or something else some day in the future.

Can't guarantee I can make a ST screening, but I'm definitely up for a game at some point in the future, if schedules work out. Even Texas Hold 'em :)

And re:GURPS, I definitely don't have anything against the system - it seems fine. Just never got into it too much.

I figure I'm going to go see it at least twice (opening day myself, once with the family). If it's good, I figured I'd try to get some of my friends together, and then play a game of Federation Commander afterward.

South of Baltimore makes it like an hour and a half away, give or take 20 minutes, not what I was hoping for.:(

For the record, my family is originally from Crisfield, over on the Eastern Shore.

I live near New Castle, in Delaware

I'm in Columbia I'm running MGT in N. Virginia.

Mike
Whoa, that's quite a drive...
Back when I was trying to run GT:ISW (that morphed into a game of Serenity, that changed into a game of GURPS Firefly) I had a couple driving up from NoVa once a week to play. I felt really sorry for them, having to drive through rush hour traffic on the DC beltway once a week.

Southern? Nah, Columbia's Central. We don't run with that south MD crowd. :)
Hahaha... actually, I used to, sorta. Many of my old college buddies went to Saint Mary's, so I spent more time down there than most. Being a 1680s-1720s reenactor, I find Saint Mary's City to be one of my favorite places on Earth.

You know... when travelling north, I don't mind the distance so much. The big obstacle is the tolls. Between Columbia and New Castle, there's what... three or four places along I95 they hit you up for money.

I tried getting a pirate event set up in New Castle, but it never got off the ground. It's a shame, because there's actually pirate history there. In the 1690s Maryland sent troops there to bring an alleged pirate to justice.

In WV, over by Hagerstown in western MD. GURPS and MGT fan.
Yay GURPS!

I'm in the middle of a GURPS Heroes game. We have a dossier of known supers that we found in the course of our adventuring. Every time we flip through it and come across Sylar's picture I say, "you know, this guy could really pass for Mr Spock.

Once it is over, I'm going to get up a game of GURPS something. I don't know what it will be yet. Too many cool things out there to play. I'd love to do GURPS Twilight 2000, or GURPS 2300AD, or GURPS Space 1889, or GURPS Weird Colonial Maryland, etc...
