Custom Avatars?

Any chance of being able to upload my own custom avatar?

If so, then how is it done?

I know it was possible once upon a time. There were limitations. Mostly soft imposed rules, not coded, which led to "issues" and iirc forced the option being withdrawn. Or possibly it was (is?) part of The Moot subscription perks. I'll go poke around a bit and see if I can dig up the particulars. Unless someone beats me to it

Yep, sorry, just a Moot subscriber perk. For reference if you're curious the maximum size of a custom image is (the smaller of) 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB.

I just recalled there was an option at one time to upload custom crafted avatars as submissions to the catalog of the standard ones. Some rules on rights, same rules on size, and after review for content they'd be uploaded and you could then use it. Of course so could others, which might be cool in it's own way. Not sure if that option is still in play or not. And it probably depends on Hunter using admin powers to add them.

This is the only avatar I've ever used... I have it on several other gaming boards:

It is a small & cropped version of this pic of me returning from a ren-faire in 2006:

I'm not sure I would want to let other people use it, though.
