CT Reprints

Perhaps people should be more relaxed and dont get upset about minor flaws.
We live in an non-perfect world. Why should fictional game stuff be perfect ?

I think daryen has just pointed out the reason for the delay in releasing the 3rd JTAS and Second Survey.

I believe that Marc is working on them (and T5, T2K reprints, T2300 reprints, and the MT-CD ROM), and finding the job to be more then he believed it would be to put together. (see daryen's post above for why) :D

On that assumption, when they are released, I believe that Modules Reprint will take just as long to produce (if not longer) .

Then we have the FASA and Judges Guild reprints to look forward too

.

It would be nice if Marc/FFE web site would confirm that ;) .

But, I believe the wait will be worth it :D :D :D .

I'd agree that JTAS Vol 3 is/will be a production headache, but I'm not sure the modules are that difficult. I have BeltStrike and Tarsus, and they're essentially just 8.5 x 11 black and white sheets. Pretty slim page count, as well. There are a few color extras that could be dealt with much more easily, I suspect, than any of the items in the Games reprint volume. I don't know anything about Spinward Marches Campaign, but recall it being pretty slim and without any difficult "extras". To naive me, the Modules reprint seems like a slam dunk - as does a combo Traveller Book/Adventure reprint.

On the other hand, I can totally understand Mr Miller wanting to do the best job he could on these projects, and hence delaying them until that's possible.

What pains me is the lack of info! The new website is almost worse than the old one, particularly in the "WTF is going on with the reprints" department.

Oh, the humaniti!

I stand corrected on that one. I had thought there were several inserts that went with both of those.

Which is my main point.

At this point, it doesn't really matter what the info is. Just tell us the situation and current expectations. That's all.

Guys,

Yesterday I sent an email to FFE asking about the current reprint schedule, and this is the response I got:
We just recently (past few [w]eeks) firmed up the plans to issue JTAS 25-33 in Jun-July of this year.
So, there is some good news on that front.

I guess that pushes all other reprints into the 2005 timeline. Here I was hoping to see what will happen in the Twilight universe...

On the good side, I notice Marc (onlooker1) is actively selling artwork on eBay. I wonder what will be the outcome of the FASA reprints, as so much has already been reprinted...maybe the modules, for when I asked him 2 years ago, he stated he wanted to stay away from reprinting High Passage/Far Traveller (I guess leaving the option open for Seeker which will be coming out with Far Traveller#3).

Received this in an email from Marc today.
JTAS 25-33 is planned for mid summer Jun-Jul.

Second Survey has not been dropped, but its date is uncertain.

More CT reprints are planned. Modules. Book+Adventure. possibly FASA modules. possibly Gamelords modules.
:D :D :D :D :D
Not a hard deadline, but better then nothing. ;)

Heck, the interest I'm making on the money I've put in savings to buy the next reprint should pay for any following one by the time it comes out.

Also makes me glad, I have not caved in and paid the outrageous prices for 'Atlas of the Imperium' on ebay

But, seriously, I'm glad to hear abou the last JTAS reprint. And I'm sad to hear Second Survey has been indefinitely delayed.

Atlas of the Imperium has a nice cover, but it's just a bunch of dotmaps. I have no idea why people would pay the money they do for it other than to complete their collection (as opposed to inherent utility value).
