0- Level skills?

CAn anyone direct me as to where to find the relative info on these skills. I found the definition of what they do in CT but can't find out if they're the same in MT.

Who gets them?

How do they affect the task system? Do you still get the bump in difficulty for not having the skill? Does it count as having the skill?

thanks...

It's been a while for me and MT, but I believe the Zero Level skills give the minimum level of proficiency in order not to incur the -4 penalty for no skill. It doesn't count as having a skill with regard to the Experience Limit (because you just add up skill levels). With the task system, there is no bonus DM, but the task is not one level harder either.

you got it right.

Your limited to max level's in skills as well as quantity of skills. If you had experience of 14, you could have 14 zero-level skills and you'd be maxed out, (even though you total up to zero in levels).

That's not correct in CT. You can have as many zero level skills as your GM will let you have. In fact, every basic career character in CT (Scouts, Army, Navy, Marines, Merchant, Other) has every weapon in Book one at Skill-0 automatically. That's a lot of skills for an Army character with Int-3 and EDU-3.

I'm almost positive this didn't change in MT. Zero level skills do not count against your Experience Limit. Only actual skill levels of Skill-1 or higher count.

Nor is it correct in MT. MT 0 levels do not count towards level limits.

TNE and T4 don't have limits.
