Wierd Worlds

Here's a place to post your wierd worlds!

My example, which was generated through the MGT playtest document:

Caerulla
B687663A G, A Naval Base, TAS, Bureau 1 other world Population 97,843,000
Temperature: cold orbit of habitable zone, cold-temperate world
2 Factions: 1 obscure true democracy, 1 minor balkanization
Culture: Deceptive, Unusual Customs: Sex
Trade codes: Ag, Ga

Well I never actually rolled it but I long ago played a little "what if" with the rules...

UPP A8AAA55-L

Yep, that's Tech Level 20. And yes it is possible with basic world gen in LBB3.

What wonders such a world would have!

:)

Screwy LBB6 Results

Oooh! :D Can I post entire systems?! Goodie!

From LBB6 generation:

++ - I tweaked this one outside the rules to be a Belt (so it's identical to the main world except for government).
So, here's a system with lots of people in two belts - with two really nice planets that are empty. The whole system is in the "Outer" section, so Habitable Zone's not much of an issue. So, why does noone live on the nice worlds, and everybody lives on the airless balls of rock? :oo:

(I have numerous systems like this, btw. This isn't even the most extreme example - just the first one I came to.) :nonono:

Fritz, what is the star type? Where is the habitable zone?

Those outer worlds might look nice on paper, but depending how far from the habitable zone they are, they are probably NOT nice places to live.

Titan is a 3A1000 world, which doesn't seem too bad until you mention that it is at -300 degrees and the "fluid" is liquid methane near the triple-point.

Oh crap - now I have to find it again.... Ah! here it is:
It's an M5 V, so all the orbits are "Outer" zone (must have been why I didn't post the zones for each orbit). Yeah, they're gonna be cold - but oxygen is still better than no oxygen, right?

(Oh, and I'm not sure it's any fun if you go too scientific on the planet temps. I've been playing around with that bit of LBB6, and you get a lot of really crappy places in the universe that way.... :( )

Which is one reason why I've been wanting to houserule LBB6 for a long time, change a rule here and see what effect it has, change a rule there, etc. Maybe I'll get around to it now. Cheers. :)
