Which proficiency for Gauss pistol?

Morte

SOC-14 1K
Which weapon proficiency feat applies to Gauss Pistols? It doesn't seem to be specified in the THB or TA 1.

the book does not say. However pages 112-113 list the various weapon proficienies. so You could stick under either combat rifleman since that list gauss rifle. or perhaps laser weapons since that covers all lasers.
IS the an oopps Hunter?

TA1 didn't elaborate and it looks like it got missed in the work on the Player's Guide too. It doesn't look like it was caught in the playtest either. I didn't get as far into that as I'd hoped as RL interferred. Not saying I would have caught it but I like to think I would.

I think it should be Weapon Proficiency (Marksman) too, it is functionally closest to the SMG which is there.

Well, I'm going to put it in Combat Rifleman for now. It's a weapon that's primarily military (too expensive/illegal for most civs), and it's only the military who get that feat on a regular basis.

Yeah, on second thinks it looks like that is the way T20 is handling Feats. More of a course study or exposure rather than groups of similar function. At least for weapons.

So change my vote to Weapon Proficiency (Combat Rifleman). Though I'd like to change the name to Weapon Proficiency (Combat Marksman) or something like that to avoid the confusion of thinking it's only Rifles.

<sigh> Maybe in second edition
