The NCC-1701 that we all know and love:

Original. Though I really like just about every one except -E.

I like the STXI Enterprise, from what I've seen. But I haven't seen much, soooo...

What's the worst of the bunch?

I'd have to say that Picard's Galaxy class Enterprise D is the most un-appealing to me.

Never have liked that ship, from the very beginning. It has grown on me some, but not enough. I like the huge, honkin' saucer section, but other than that, I can't stand the rest of it.

I always thought the TNG folks did a better job on the Enterprise C than they did the D. The C looks like a beefy muscle car that can take anything you can throw at it in the episode in which the ship appears.

I remember reading an article that James Doohan never liked the Enterprise D either.

Of the bunch that were on TV regularly, I'd rank the D at the bottom, too. It definitely grew on me, so I was kind of sorry to see it go, but I definitely remember being kind of weirded out by it for the first couple of seasons.

Strangely, even though they are different, the C and the new movie's Enterprise seem similar to me, at least with what we have seen so far.

I had to go with the classic re-imagined, for they are all good, but something about a starship under wraps and just emerging has a appeal to me. However, it is the Galactica that always screamed Traveller to me. Funny how the different Traveller companies never really tried to emulate the big boys of film...yes, there were nods here & there but nothing that really has the scope of an Enterprise or Star Destroyer. I guess it is a small ship universe...I always like big ships...comes from when I was born my father had to trade in the Jag for a Stationwagon, I suppose...;)

Fave would be NX-01 for the grittiness and more functional seeming build, inside and out, from what little I saw of the show.

Worst is harder to nail down, I probably have three tied for worst. The A with those funky warp nacelles. The E for those funky warp nacelles. The newest one because of those funky warp nacelles. Why do "they" think, "hey lets make the warp nacelles a little different, let's funkify them, that'd be cool" is the way to make ST "better" :nonono:

I am actually inclined to go with the B for the same reason it just missed being my favorite: the doodads and deely-bobs that were added to the otherwise clean, Art Deco lines of the Excelsior class make the B a real Ugly Stepsister to the other members of the class.

I think the E captures what they were going for with the D (and to some extent, the beefier C as well) -- but there are two problems with it: 1) she looks like the ideal of what the Interpid-class Voyager wants to be when she grows up, and 2) "she" is in dire need of a circumcision.

I enjoy how the re-imaged TOS version moves the original in exactly the opposite direction from the ST:TMP and A versions, though... she's just clunky enough to work on the big screen...

I thought that when I first saw the new Enterprise as well.

Of course, I've always liked the C. I always thought it would have been better if the D looked more like the C.

I like how the B is a modified from the standard Excelsior class. The engineering hull is a bit different around the deflector/sensor array.

You might be suprised to know that J.J. Abrams (directing the new movie) loved the A. His instructions for the new Enterprise was to meld the A with the orignal classic Trek Enterprise.

1701 and 1701-A are my favorite, the new movie version looks like it might be a close second.

For a different, parallel class,maybe.

I can't see any way how the new "old" Enterprise could ever be upgraded into the TOS one... which it is supposed to be, now isn't it?

Once again, universe continuity gets shot all to h$ll for the whims of a spoiled, "I'll do it my way and to f&@k with everything that came before", arseheil director.
