Weapon Mounts on Arms

I was working on some powered armor with built in weapons. Some of these weapons were arm mounted.

Now I know that the rules say that you can use appendages as weapons mounts (I'll calculate any "hand carried" capabilites as the lift after the built-ins) BUT ... do appendage monted weapons get the armor protection of the suit? Or would you have to put them in couplas to get the armor protection (and in that case the lift needed would be the whole coupla group)?

Thanks

Evening BLH,

Just off the top of my head, weapons would not get the same armor protection as the vehicle, in this case body armor, by just being mounted on the vehicle. Here is my rough example: Say you have a truck and you add armor around the sides to protect the drive and passengers. Then you add a missile launcher that sticks above the armor plate. The launcher does not have the same armor rating as the truck. To protect the launcher you have to build a frame, called a turret. The armor plate can be thinner, the same, or thicker than the sides of a vehicle.
