Traveller Sightings!

Talking about appearances Hunter, when would Booksamillion be getting theirs, as I ordered through them. Thanks.
Depends on who they are buying through. All of the game distributors that orders should likely have their stocks now. For traditional bookstores, we are waiting to get a final preorder count before we begin shipping those (yes we made it into the bookstore chains!)

Dern it!! I Pre-Ordered but doubt I'll see the book by tomorrow. Problem is I go on a 3 week AT w/ my national guard unit on Tuesday. It's going to be hard to come home and not say "yeh honey, love you too, where's the mail?" Oh well, at least uncle Sam will be getting 100% of my undivided attention. Later - Joe

YA-HOOOOO!

Got mine today, Hunter! Now I won't be able to work for the rest of the day!

Just got the call from my FLGS - my book is IN!! And soon (about 90 minutes from now) it will be in my grubby little paws.

Guess I won't be getting much sleep tonight

Still waiting for my pre-order.... :(

When can we expect copies to turn up in Australia?
I honestly don't know. We contacted Jedko who basically told us they had no interest in anything d20 or Traveller. If you can give me contact info for other distributors in the country, I will definitely get in touch with them!

Sorry! We didn't have any control over when the shipment got here and we are starting to get them moving, but bear with us. We have over 300 pre-orders to get shipped out!

That's crazy talk!
Try:
contact@logicalchoice.com.au
That's our local store here in the nations capital.
Yup they told us they wouldn't be able to sell more than 12 copies. I imagine though that T20 will work its way there. Jedko apparently orders through Alliance who has (or had?) more than a few hundred copies.

We will sell to retail stores individually if they can't get it through a local distributor. Just have em contact us and we'll get something worked out.

</font>[/QUOTE]You can always do what I did, Michael - run down to Mayhem and buy yourself a copy (they had 3 left when I was there last night). I'm sure Hunter et. al. wouldn't mind if you went out and bought a copy instead of waiting for the pre-order.

No doubt I'll be flamed for this and quite possibly my member rating will go down even farther, but I have a question:

Isn't one of the reasons for preordering something (months in advance in this case) is to receive it before it hits the store shelves?

I'm not trying to be overly critical here. I am more interested in whether I was wrong to think that I would get my preordered book before the stores. Am I the only one that was under this assumption? I am more than happy to admit to my own ignorance if this was explained on the preorder page and I simply missed it.

I also apologize if this has been brought up and dealt with already on these boards. I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to that thread if that's the case.

I always thought so, too, but Amazon.com has already altered my world-view on that one. Pre-ordering seems to be a good way to get a discount if one is offered, but rarely means you'll get your copy of whatever before it hits the retail shelves.

To paraphrase Calvin and Hobbes: "I realise that life is unfair, but why is it never unfair in my favor?"

I actually gave you five stars, btw. Which just means I'll be dropping down myself, no doubt.

well lads, lets not cry over spilt milk shall we? We didnae have to leave our homes to the store, nor spend gas, nor fighting in line to check out either did we?

5 stars fer you Ld Irial, from your neighbors in Gleann Abhainn. See ya Gulf wars 2003? Ask for "Lord Liam Devlin" there..barony SGB, we camp next to Trimaris!

No doubt.

Obviously, the frustrating bit is that I could (at this very moment) go down to my local store and get a copy. Instead it looks like I won't receive my copy until next week at the earliest. I would have eagerly paid the extra $5.00 (or whatever the difference in price is) to have it that much sooner.
