Traveller map just went down. (20 Jan 2013)

I will readily concede that I am one of those users who have leaned on travellermap.com as my "official" authority for the OTU.
Thank you for the hard work that goes into maintaining your site; it's a priceless resource.

I have downloaded more sectors than I can count to load into Universe, which I am using for my current game.

It would be very nice to have something to distinguish official sectors from unofficial ones, and the credits sound like the easiest place to do that.

I do like the idea of a checkbox to the side to filter. If that isn't enormously difficult to do, I would be in favor of having that option too.

My gut reaction at this point is to do something quick and cutesy like have == AMBER ZONE: UNOFFICIAL DATA == appear in the credits area that links to an explanation of the site's combination of official + unofficial data. I don't know if that's too subtle or too obnoxious. I'm also working to get some more obvious "official" / "unofficial" tag into the data returned by various APIs.

Seconded. If you make it too subtle, it is going to be missed by exactly the people that most need to see it. More careful users are going to look at the credits, but the casual user may need something like the above.
