The Online Gaming Slump

After three years of running a game steady online, and playing in several others (in PBEM and PbP formats) I have noticed that before, during and for a while after the holidays/New Year, online game activity tends to drop off some.

This is the period of time that makes or breaks most games. Real Life concerns take precedence or at least stultify the action. In my own case of late, it has been a lot of work that keeps me from my calling.

Have any of you other online players or referees noticed this phenomenon? What are your views on it, Oh Moot?

Maybe their New Year's Resolutions were not to game so much. hehe. But seriously, I've noticed a big dropoff over at rpol.net. Most of my lurker games have been deleted and The Imperial Fringe I was really interested in reading hasn't had a post in months. Wierd...
