Page 286 - VehicleMaker - Vehicle Fittings "Controls" & "Communications":
Those fittings are not defined in the tables of the VehicleMaker.
Some of these options are on the tables of the ArmorMaker but without values, except for associated drawbacks.

Vehicle Fittings are found on p286 and their presence is defined by the designer or specified by the vehicle description ie. this is what you expect to find in a certain vehicle.

Items beyond basic fittings such as sensors are built with ACS or ThingMaker and have associated cost and volume.

Clarification is needed on whether Crew receive a "free" Control Console or if Control Consoles must be installed.

p282 Passengers and Crew

States: Supply vehicles can carry passengers equal to five times cargo capacity (in tons).

The only incidence of "Supply" comes under Military Vehicles: Mission. This really restricts the utility of this rule.

I think the intent here is allow any "cargo" or "load carrying" vehicle to convert one ton of Load to passenger accommodation but the use of "supply" vehicle causes confusion. Otherwise how can I convert a Van to a minibus or a Transport to a bus other than using an expensive and high capacity Passenger Module?

I suggest Supply vehicles be changed to Vehicles with free Load.

The roll "Local Pop -1D" compared to the spaceport table seems incorrect/counterintuitive: The higher the local population, the worse the port?

Page 431: PBG: omission?: on the following pages here is no information on how to generate "P"

p.431 says P represents "[t]he significant digit of the population". I took that to mean it's a 0-9 value (which fits the description) that tells you, for example, how many tens of people you have on a Size =1 world, or how many trillions you have on a Size =C world. Size =6, P =3 would thus mean 3 million population.

Hey now, I did some of the work first.

I went with Hydro = Atmo + Flux, because it was that way last I checked and it follows the Pop > Gov > Law pattern.

Space Lasers

Hi,

On page 342 the table gives Pulse and Beam Lasers (and various other weapons)
ab R range of 7, or 50km.

On page 388 an example is given (Identifying Space Weapons) of a Beam Laser with Range AR?

However, I'm unable to see a rule to convert the Vd range Beam Laser to a Space range weapon, can someone help, as it makes all patrol craft very weak if the have to close to 50 km.

Page 41 has a chart with the comparative ranges on it.

Vd = R7 = S12.​

Everything you should need is there. Okay, not everything or it would be the most crowded page in printing ever, but in this case there are answer for you on Page 41 of the T5 Core Rules.

Thanks that's helpful but doesn't answer the question as page 41 indicates the S range for a Beam Laser is R -5, or 2 (or FR). I don't see how you can get an AR Laser at TL9 and even at TL12 you would need to make it enormous (1.5 tons) to raise the range band to AR, which raises the question would it fit in a 1t turret?

I moved on to Space Combat, (although I don't have a couple of ships to try it with yet) and noticed on page 413 that Lasers have an AM range of FR and an attack tange of SR.

I think the table on page 342 is wrong and that Lasers should have an Vd range for atmosphere and and S range of 5 for Space combat, only the Particle Accelerator is given a 7 / 7 R, S range band.

Does this make sense?

Missing default fame for Nobles

pg 109 specifies that Nobles should have some default fame from character generation, but I've failed to spot where it's specified.

There's a table in the original beta (pg 89) that appears to be missing from the final edition:

Poice is Perception Voice or PVoice.

It's a measure of how strong a Thought or Lifeforce is that can be detected with the Perception Sense. See p207 for details.

I think its also mentioned in errata.

[EDIT] Yep it's contained in the latest Errata 0.6

p. 207, Perception-1, Perception Code (correction): PVoice should be Poice. Types of Poice are listed on page 556.

Missile Size and Mount Capacity

No indication or guidance is given for how many missiles of a given size can fit on or in a given mount.

I am aware that it is not necessary to know how many missiles a given mount can hold for Space Combat as magazine capacity for all weapons is assumed to be infinite. But it would be nice to have a guideline for both ship design and roelplaying narrative reasons

Information is given for Missile Size with the standard Missile being Size 5 referred to as "man sized" in the text. From VehicleMaker we know that you can fit 5 "man sized" passengers in one ton so we could set a benchmark as "Five Size 5 Missiles fit in 1 ton" and work out the others from there.

Well, cannot is probably a poor choice of words. I should say I haven't figured out how to build it yet.

You can make a SR Beam Laser: A Std SR(G) T1 Beam Laser-13 costs MCr 2.1, displaces 4 tons, and has Mod -2. (I hope I did that right)

EDIT: I forgot to add: the example on page 388 can be most easily corrected by changing AR to FR.

The Drives at MOD stage shows a conflict in the rules.
P. 362 We have Drive Tech Level Efficency Table entry:
Mod Modified +2 /2 90% 1.1

P. 338 we have the Drive Tech Level Efficency Table entry:
Mod Modified +2 /2 110% 0.9

I think P. 338 is correct.

- Table 0 obviously shows the 1D Encounter Table structure; the 2D Encounter Table mentioned on p.575 is missing here and/or on p.585.

- Table 2 has entries for 0 and 7 but no mods to get those results; 0 and 7 are also the same as 1 and 6 and may be ommited, I guess.

- Table 3 has Size= 8 for Colossal and Vcolossal; I think Vcolossal should be Size= 9.

- Table 5 uses Grav DM the same was Table 3 does but this seems counter-intuitive to me; I would have guessed that "High-G = stronger beast"; therefore I suggest to use "Minus Grav DM".

- Table 6 allows for Static/Immobile results - should this change Land Locomotion to Static and Water Locomotion to Drifter?

- Table 7 seems to contradict the Weapon column of Table B on p.582 but seems more appropriate - which one should be used/deleted?

- "Create Body Structure" A... Symmetry uses Grace/Agility as base for DMs but I can't see where it is determined whether a beast uses Grace, Agility or even Dexterity.

- Table A does not define front/read limbs for Triphibians.

- Table B "Side Notes" Armor: is this Ar= 2D whatever the Skin of the beast?

- Table B "Side Notes" Stance: where does this belong to?
