T5 Character damage

From the CD-ROM... Once armor absorbs damage points, the remainder goes to the character, where we use the hit location chart, so far so good. BUT WHAT NEXT? Do the damage points subtract from the C1,C2,C3 characteristics? It is not addressed.

Personal Combat Damage

After you determine if armor/protection is penetrated, you roll for injury.

Consult Hit Location Table.

Then see the Injury Table.

From this you get a wound "Severity."

To "treat" the wound requires you to consult the Medic Skill section. There you will find rules for diagnosis and treatment.

I will agree with you that something seems to be missing, like being knocked unconcious. Maybe if you move this over to the Private Access Forum in the Personal Combat draft you can get further clarification.

All the previous drafts had a somewhat unclear reference to characteristic damage as in CT. The problem with it was that subtracting full dice from randomly determined characteristics is difficult when you've already subtracted the armour from a total.

My suggestion has been to subtract the smallest dice individually from the armour first. That will leave you with a single reduced die. Then take the highest die off the highest of C1, C2, and C3 and then the next off the next highest and so on. That gets rid of the extra dice rolling and cleans up the other issue.

You've got to consult two tables for damage in T5?

If true, that's definitley not good news and sounds like a step back into the past.

It sounds clunky and not very game-friendly.
