T5 Chapter Priorities

I suggested that an index could be achieved as a fan project. But yes, by all means, an index would be great.

When it comes to the interaction between gun maker and armor maker it still seems to me that the easiest fix would be to allow some attack types to be cumulative against armor.

1) Personal Combat - especially need more work on hand-to-hand and blades
2) the Makers (can that count as one chapter)? - that follows from personal combat as others have said.
3) World and System generation
4) Trade and Commerce - in particular, I would love a Don MT Trade Variant style system instead of the current system inherited from Merchant Prince.
5) How Starship Combat interacts with Personal Combat

Having said that, everyone has argued good cases here. I'm mostly glad of the commitment to work on the thing as I'm enjoying running a T5 campaign converting The Traveller Adventure as I go in my blog.

I'll say this: the Personals are a real strength in T5, and allow any character to get the spotlight regardless of skills.

My Choices

• GunMaker (With a how to section along with how it works in combat)
• ArmorMaker (Same as above)
• How Starships Work (This would detail average workings and daily life on a Starship)
• Starship combat (How the tri-D (X,Y,Z) space combat system should work)
• Trade and Commerce (a detailed explanation of how to Best buy, sell and negotiate trade and commerce with and without a middle man/Broker)

One more thought:

Acronym list with explanation. Ex: LLB = Little Black Book etc.

Some in the BBB are a bit hard to fathom/find as their use is not contiguous.

Don's T5 Chapter Priorities (in this order):
Personal Combat (I already won this one, so it doesn't count)
GunMaker
ArmorMaker
VehicleMaker
Starship Design
How Starships Work
Starship Combat
Star Systems and Worlds
Trade and Commerce
QREBS

Don, I just did a quick scan and didn't notice this point but will apologize in advance if I missed it and am repeating.

I recommend you flip the priorities for starships to read Starship Combat, How Starships Work, and then Starship Design. I think they need to build in that order because decisions in the first two must be part of the third.

Based purely on my own selfish interests:

BeastMaker/Sophonts - these really should be together in this order, along with Chimera, clones, androids, and robots.
Star systems and their worlds
Trade and Commerce
VehicleMaker - With GunMaker/ArmorMaker/ThingMaker as adjuncts.
How starships work.

I think I violated your 5 chapter rule though.

Yes, this is correct. Arrgh!

Starship Combat
How Starships Work
Starship Design
Trade and Commerce

And in place of the fifth chapter I'd love to see a step-by-step example of starship design and combat, including the fill forms.

Characters are just the chewy insides of a nice, crunchy starship. :)

I'll lock this Sunday evening and then put together a poll.

Crap. This is what happens when one comes to something as byzantine as this board - too many threads to track and read by deadlines set...

If I can sneak in after the door is closing, I'd prioritise:

Personal Combat
GunMaker
ArmorMaker
Starship Design
Starship Combat
