3 editions, PLST, 3... A quick search shows the 1989 as 2nd edition, and 1991 & 1996 as 3rd edition, as does my 1996 edition, on the copyright page (inside front cover).

You described second and third editions.

an inexpensive 2nd ed is good for MT, as it includes the conversion tables.

Of course, by extrapolating from 3G3's tables (MT/TNE TL9-15 are 3G3/Timelords/SpaceTime TL's, aka TLTL, of 3g3TL 12-17), one can make some SERIOUS firearms...

A couple caveats: Traveller assumes CPR weapons top out at TTL 10 (3G3 TL 12), while 3G3 tops out at 3g3TL 15, but provides for extrapolating to TLTL18 or so...

A TTL15 hypvel pistol of maximum powder loading is readily capable of massive penetrations; a DU 2x20mm HypVel penetrator and cased round can get QUITE high, with rounds the size of '120 cigarttes.' I've gotten pens of 8 for pistols, and 9 for rifles with that round. The 3m muzzle flash is an issue, however... as is the hypersonic speed.

(Was P/A 8/3, Dmg 3, Sig Hi, Recoil Hi for the pistol, P/A 9/3 for the rifle.)

These were the versions I was describing. The page count differences and supported systems differences were described based on first hand observation of these two '3rd edition' versions.
