STRIKER or FF&S for Megatraveller?

I'm considering getting FF&S to be able to design small arms, vehicle weapons, tac missiles, starship weapons...maybe even vehicles and starships themselves. How easy is it to convert these designs for use in MT? Can I use FF&S armour/range/penetrations/damage in a similar way to MT?

Or am I better off getting a reprint of STRIKER?

Thanks

It's not particularly difficult to convert FF&S penetration values to centimeters of hard steel. However, FF&S designs are dramatically different from Megatraveller designs, so you may run into problems if you try to use vehicles from both sources in a single game.

Dear Folks -

MT inherently is "CT-meets-Striker", with the task system thrown in on top.

Having had a few goes to mesh the various incompatable rules sets together, I can recommend that it's best if you design everything in a system that is already compatable. Otherwise you design stuff and then have to go through a painful conversion process (effectively a re-design).

I already have some MT Weapons Tables available, if you're interested.

Translation: Get Striker.

FF&S interfaces with Striker-2, which (since it doesn't interface with the MT task system) a less useful system IMO.

FF&S has its nice points, but most of them are for tying into Non-Traveller systems and figuring out what the "real" effects of systems / weapons / defences are...

Thanks, looks like i'll go for the STRIKER reprint or wait for the CDROM to come out.

What is 3G3? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but have no idea what it is. Something from GURPS?
