Star Wars Universe

There were no "official" LS stats for MegaTraveller that I know of, however, Mongoose Travellers Book 4 Psion has a "Psionic Energy Sword" on pg 84.

While I can't add to the suggestions of the previous postings, I think I can add one concerning story. Use a time period from before the movies and subsequent novels. Perhaps Knights of the Old Republic era. I agree with the other members in that Traveller is a very versitale game(that was its' purpose, no?), and that Star Wars should do just fine. The reason for my suggestion is two fold:
1: George Lucas has seeminly turned a fanatastic idea(the first trilogy) into a soulless cash cow. And for me a lot of the luster is gone. The only saving grace are the novels, which brings me to point #...

2: Most of the novels dated for after the first trilogy seem to follow a rather dreary template. Only a really good author can bring out the best of a story(Stackpole's I, Jedi come to mind). The publishers of the novels have seemingly contrived an assembly line for the era after the movies. In the Knights of the Old Republic era, Lucas appears to be more hands off, which for me make for more intriging stories. There are more Jedi, and personalities are allowed to vary. There is also the Sith, and other more colorful characters to play with, and with just as much latitude for interpretation. Check out The Lost Tribe of the Sith(ebook) to see what I mean. Or Decieved, just recently released. Again also a mold breaker. The opportunities are endless. Star Wars without the baggage.

As much as I detest importation of Star Wars into Traveller, I still love Star Wars (although hate what it did to SF). So if you can keep us abreast by supplying us with your campaign notes...as I am struggling to introduce Traveller to a wider audience i.e. my home city. And, if I have to use Star Wars to do it...I sure as hell will give it a try.
