Scouts and Jump drives

What do you all think of Scout ships that can obtain jumps greater than jump-1?

I always thought better jump drives could carry smaller crafts further.

Thoughts?

It's not clear to me where this question is coming from.

In every version of Traveller I am familiar with, the same absolute size jump drive will be more capable in a smaller hull. In Book 2, the smallest jump drive makes a 100 ton hull capable of going jump-2. I think every version of Traveller has had the equivalent (approximately) capability for 100 ton scouts.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I don't have my books in front of me), but J-1 was the furthest a 100-Ton scout could travel in one jump. Or am I mistaken?

THe drive table shows an A drive produces level 2 performance for a 100 ton hull.
B drives produce level 4, but getting J4 under Bk2 is REALLY tight (read, Impossible w/out drop tanks or no PP):

20 Bridge
40 JFuel
15 JDrive B
07 PP B
10 Fuel PP, 2 weeks
04 SRx1
04 Model 4 comp

100

this looks like a quasi-Valid X-Boat design. (I used TTB. It doesn't say you can, nor does it say you can't, put in less than a full month's fuel).
