Pocket Empires Now Open

It's amazing

The work that's gone into the ships - wow!

And thank you for T20 rules for HEPlaR drives, fusion rockets, fusion+ power plants - this stuff should be written up for QLI pronto to become part of official T20 canon, IMHO of course.

Well done to all involved.

Hmm. So the Standard Imperial Thruster is basically an Alcubierre Drive? Kinky

(there's further discussion here)

And yeah, the HEPlar tech page is very good
.

Hi Guys, thanks for the kind comments, although I can't take all of the credit. The web engineering is actually done by Joseph Jaquinta who is one of the original authors of the T4 book 'Pocket Empires' in addition to numerous other parts of T4 stuff like Milieu Zero. So well done jo.

I know he will be pleased with the kind feedback so far.

Also there's some more stuff going up in the next few weeks including an adventure set in a M0 Pocket empire and some rules additions that should be applicable across all rules sets.

Jo is also seeking submissions from anyone else.

So if you've got something that you'd like to share then please send it on via the link at Pocket Empires or to me and I'll pass it on to Jo ;)

Well yes I had the idea a few years ago before I knew that there was a basis for this in postulated science. As I understand it an alcubierre drive encloses the whole ship in a bubble of altered space time in order to allow it to travel at faster than light velocities. Whilst doing my research for this I came across several references to the alcubierre drive on the web and thought, wouldn't it be great to have a bubble of altered space time at the heart of the engine, thus giving us traditional traveller thrusters with a semi official basis in postulated science.

Good stuff.

What Drax said, yeah!

Thanks for the positive comments. All submissions very welcome. I'm going to try to keep to monthly updates, but I won't make promises I can't keep. I have material for next month's update, but it takes time to typeset and integrate.
I'm glad everyone likes the ship designs. Is that the most useful/fun part of the site? Has anyone tried the wargame? It's got an open design system so if someone wants to spec up some scenarios for it that's a perfectly valid submission too.

Cheers,

Jo Grant/Joseph Jaquinta

Yes it loaded and didn't crash on me. There were were a few quirks, which may have just been me fiddling around. I couldn't get back to a planet readout by clicking on the planet from the empire listing. One thing that might be nice is have the initial ships' design be preloaded at the homeworld starbase. This way you have at least one design ready to tweak and build. Help on the learning curve at least.
