Nebulae

Was watching a show on Nebulae last night and it got me thinking (always dangerous): Are there no settled systems in/near a nebula?

I have CT, MegaTraveller, and New Era, and I have not seen any mention of nebulae any where. I realize that it is unlikely (impossible?) for a system to have developed life while it was still in the "star factory" of a nebula, but such a system could still be colonized.

On the flip side, planets in a planetary nebula would need high-tech to habitable (with their star being a white dwarf), but for CT levels of technology that should be doable.

NEBULA ARE HUGE!!! And a planet in a nebula need not be orbiting a white dwarf. It could be in a system located inside a nebula due to a neighboring star having gone nova to produce the nebula, in which case, the planets own stars solar winds would clear the nebular matter from its system over time. The world would have gorgeous night and possibly daytime skys!

Nebulae are stellar nurseries. Are there likely to be usable worlds in that area? I'm thinking stellar dust, maybe molten worlds with constant asteroid strikes.

(Haven't we seen this thread before?)
I generally presume that world in nebulae have asteroid belts/protoplanetary disks, but normal ("solid") worlds can be found, though rarer than outside nebulae.
