Hey we need an official Ship's Registry! Or was that brought up some time back? Well this thread will work quite well, specially if Hunter could make it a sticky, if he thinks its worthy

An OTU registration should have about 20 digits/characters, at least. Those are more like state license plate numbers.

I was just following MADDog's lead

The way I did CT ship registry way back was by Sector/Subsector-World Hex-Imperial Date but that was just a mtu invention and for civilian ships. For Imperial Military ships I used the official designation system outlined somewhere, but what it was or where it was is now forgotten.

The actual required length of the code would depend on the population of ships in ytu.

Oh, btw MADDog's was originally a state licence plate, Detroit iirc.

Yes, it IS a license plate number...Illinois, in fact. The plate is from the Bluesmobile in the Blues Brothers.

No but she was in the Blues Brothers movie and worked for George Lucas in a few films ^_^.

Another connection is the movie Under the Rainbow. Chevy Chase starred with Carrie Fisher. And midgets. A lot of midgets. Seem to remember it being on tv a few times and fairly funny.
