Interesting. Looks (to me at least) completly consistant with what MJD has said here previously. This looks like the 20,000 ft. overview of the basic era as viewed from even further out in Marc timeline. Thanks for pointing this out; I'd given up even looking at the FFE website since it had been untouched for so long.

I recognise that. It's a very, VERY old concept document I wrote a long time ago in the early stages of the New Era project. It's not 100% accurate now but it's pretty close.

Well, that's good to hear! It was a bit disconcerting to see your effort going forward, but then to see Marc put out something similar, but different. That it is just an old concept draft is greatly reassuring.

Kind of begs the questions, which bits are accurate and which bits have changed?

The Solomani Rim

The Solomani fought a long rearguard action against Vampire Fleets, finally creating a stable border and beginning to expand back into old territory. This brought them into conflict with the Aslan and Vampire fleets operating out of the ruins of the Two Thousand Worlds.

Is the bolded part, a typing mistake or are we talking about some very big and well armed sentient starship shuttling through Chartered
Space?

Does the K'kree knowledge of genetics have a role in the New Era that you are designing?

That section is somewhat inaccurate. There are indeed Vampires operating out of what used to be the 2000 Worlds but they are more of a problem for Hivers and Imperials than Solomani.

Though as you will see, the Solomani do end up in conflict with them too, and there is an incident that looks like it might have been a K'Kree fleet.
