Kickstarter Books? Are they still shipping?

I emailed Marc a month ago and he stated that the package would most likely be shipped that forthcoming weekend.
As I haven't yet received it I wasn't sure what to do because some people have said that they didn't receive shipping confirmation yet still received their package.
I thought that, maybe, the package was lost or caught up in customs here in Ireland so I corresponded with Marc again a couple of days ago.
He has assured me that his goal is to have everything shipped by June 30.

Because someone asked: YES, Marc is back from Columbia, and YES, he is shipping.

Now, someone else asked about the non-Kickstarter shipments that are going out, and I asked Marc about those...

Apparently SOME of those went out from another fulfillment process that is NOT directly handled by Marc. He was NOT sure how many though.

That is what was said about the CDs when those web store orders went out some time ago, when the KS items were first shipping (end of March?). It was made to sound like an exception, a one time thing.

I also haven't heard a single thing since being asked to make the payment by PayPal so that I would be in the expedited system. And yet others ("some", many, all, doesn't make a difference) have been getting their books.

When I pointed out that this wasn't really at all cool, someone else comes in and says that those people were probably lying. But here we are, with confirmation that others are getting their orders, and there is even someone here on the board doing a detailed review of their book, which they bought directly.

I'm really not happy about it, but at least the truth is out.

Marc's not happy about it either, but told me right away that it had happened, and to post it.

Not been on COTI since I started holidays. No email as yet for me and I am just starting to get concerned.

Hope all is well.

Well, when it comes down to it, one guy in his living room vs thousands of books. It's not like he's got a stock room team and a warehouse. I've seen worse kickstarter delays from companies that had both (*cough* Mantic).

A couple more weeks and we will ALL have our books, then this thread will become obsolete.

From what I have read Marc is being very thorough and is packing each and every order with care and attention.

Well, "IT" arrived today (and I don't mean a container load from Avalon Hill*) ... and, after a half an hour flicking through it ... first impressions ...

# It's BIG
# It SEEMS comprehensive **
# Did I mention it's BIG?

That's all I can say at present, except that there are hints as to a variety of ways in which the OTU either HAS been modified or COULD be modified, so those of you, like me, who always found some of the assumptions - suboptimal, shall we say - can see how things can be changed, and those of you, like most who probably hang out on CotI, who like things as they were in the 1970's, can remain happy.

Probably the best of both worlds!

Did I mention it is *BIG*?

* Avalon Hill's wargame of WW2 on a one man/vehicle/weapon, one counter scale - if you're old enough to remember the General article
** Obviously it will take a *long* time to read through and see that it actually HAS checked all the bases, but it seems to have done so on first glance.

Heh, mine arrived yesterday too! :D

My first impressions were like many others: It's big, yes. I knew that for months now and it still surprises me whenever I pick it up. Also, it looks great! It does kind of make you think to when you first opened up your first Traveller books oh so long ago, feeling like a kid. As a beta participant, I've stared at these same pages hundreds of times, but they just look so much better in an actual book.

After spending half and hour or so reading and skimming, my hands where getting tired holding the thing, and I was running out of positions to alternate between. I was reminded of what I've said elsewhere of the other benefits if this book had been split into three like CT, or even two like Starter Traveller (like we wouldn't be missing a bunch of stuff that was cut for space reasons).

The dice look good, I'm happy to have them. My only criticism is (keeping in mind I only have 4) when I think about trying to roll 6 or 8 or 10 of them, their larger size doesn't really go well with the many-dice task system, does it?

I was really surprised to see that the book was signed both by Marc and Emperor Strephon! That was really cool, but has anyone noticed how similar their writing styles are? ;):p

The coins are awesome. I want more of those too (like the dice). But I noticed that they were minted 1116. That lets me know it's only a matter of time before the x-boat arrives here on Terra giving us all the bad news. Then again, maybe not so bad; my TAS card is from Freya in Ilelish/Ilelish, two parsecs away from the world Ilelish! All hail Emperor Dulinor!

Rules stuff aside (I'll leave those impressions for other threads), I'm pretty happy to finally have it. Hmm, I just noticed it has that "new book smell"! :p
(and I still think we need a "happy-dance" emoticon!)

Still waiting on mine. No word on it, nor the Trav Apocrypha CD I ordered from FFE back in early April, which was my birthday gift to myself. :(

Does anybody know how many people are still waiting for their book to arrive?
Marc told me in an email that his goal was to have everything shipped by June 30, but I'm just curious to know if that goal is still 'on track'.

I went to my Friendly Local Gaming Store (all the way in Glendale!) and the owner said he hasn't got his retailer package yet...

I already have my Monolith. It was delivered and THEN I got my notification from PayPal. :p

Marc and I spent an hour and a half today reviewing errata, and he confirmed the "end of June" target.

Hmm, I was told mine would be shipped the weekend around 27th April.
No sign of it by end of May so I emailed Marc and he told me that it hadn't been shipped and to remind him on 15 June (today).
Just emailed my details (again) so we'll see what happens from here.
It's become a bit of an in-joke in our family as every day the kids get home from school, the first thing they say is "any sign of T5 today?", followed by laughs all round.
Ah well, looks like we are sticking with CT for our summer campaign.

Got my email notification today, so I will be a semi nervous wreck for two weeks while waiting for the package to arrive.

Downside is that T5 will arrive when my long service leave finishes and I go back to work.... :p

Best way to contact Marc?

My T5 got sent to the wrong address and it appears to have not been forwarded properly. Have sent queries to Marc via farfuture and kickstarter but no response. What is the best email to use? Thanks in advance.
