Jump Capacitors

No idea who that could be, though....
Right you are, must have been some other concurrent research here on the station, or a pet project offshoot of some of the researchers in this lab.

Glad to see you're keeping an eye on your project. Are we getting anywhere yet? ;)

Only familiar with CT, MT & T20, all definitely require or strongly imply continued use of fuel throughout Jump, e.g. High Guard states power absorbed by a Black Globe can be used to Jump a vessel if it has sufficient fuel for the jump.

Too bad, I love the idea of nuzzling up to a tanker, ramming a few hundred d-tons of L-Hyd through a reactor and powering up a big-ass bank of JCs to see you through your next 4 or 5 Jumps!

Reverse usage of JCs thought up by an engineer in a campaign I was in: Keep your power plant plasma just below ignition temperature/pressure (assuming it's a tokamak or related system). When Bad Guys (or Next Victim if YOU are the Bad Guy) gets into range, dump the capacitor charge into your drive plasma, thus starting your powerplant (essentially) instantly. You get lots of power, but minimal signature until the last second. He called it a 'Crash Start', correctly implying that it May Not Be Good for either your power plant or your JCs.
