IRIS character generation --Reprint info?

I went digging and found my Challenge 34. Here’s a quick summary of the character generation system. Some of the characters you can make could probably go one-on-one against Max Payne, but munchkins will be munchkins, no matter what they start with...

I tried posting it, but the board just mushes the nicely tabbed-out tables to the left. I'll try emailling it to secretagent - if anyone wants a copy of the summary, post or email me.

Well, the private message feature seems to be on holidays. That's a no-go as well.

I have a word document and a text version that summarize the advanced character generation system for IRIS characters. I'll post one or the other on my web page in the next few days - just follow the link in the signature.

Jon,

many thanks for the tables and information. I received the pm via COTI. I sent you my hotmail account as well. I really appreciate all the effort and hope I can return the favor sometime.

A first glance at the tables and rules convinces me more and more that IRIS characters are just too goofy and out of balance for game play.

No problem, glad to help.

If anyone else wants a copy, let me know, I can email it to you. If no one else is interested, it's a bit of a pain to post it to a site if no one wants to see it.

Hey, secretagent!

Did the info help, or did your players insist upon building munch, er, IRIS characters? And if so, did they survive that little misjump into the Great Rift?

I have the Challange rules. I noticed something about the character class when it was first done. If you can actually make the required rolls to qualify for IRIS, (Good luck without seriously fudging the attribute die rolls.) the same character in the Marines, especially with Commando Training, is just as nasty. A Scout with the right offices would almost be as nasty as well.

But in all honesty, I would allow IRIS, after all they are under more restrictions than an equivalent Ex-Marine and if a character can get those kind of rolls they are going to be nasty any way you slice them. And at least they aren't ex IRIS agents they are current so you, at least, get to hold them on a leash. >

I left them roll up and use IRIS characters. I then threw all the challenges that such amazing characters would draw --being 1st class trouble shooters of the Empire. out of 5 -- 2 are now dead. One is recovering from wounds for doing something foolish and the remaining two are pondering getting out of the service for good so they can live without fear.
