Help Needed: Races of the Hinterworlds...

Flynn

SOC-14 1K
Good Morning, All,

In preparing the Hinterworlds 1248 supplement, I have identified a number of races that are likely to be present in the sector. They are:

Humans (Imperial, Solomani, Anubian-psi, Lamura Teg)

Lamura (Gav-spider and Teg-human, in symbiotic relationship)

Gniivi (long-lived race)

Jenda (from the Council of Leh Perash; accomplished geneers)

Hivers (through the Council of Leh Perash)

Ithklurs (who accompany the Hivers)

K'kree (at the Alike trade nexus)

Stalkers (xenophobic light-emitting seal-like creatures)

And occasionally Prt' (from Spica to rimward, but they are described as enjoying joining the Scouts, and can travel up to a sector or two away from their homeworld.)

My question is simple.

Are there any official stats for the following races: Lamura, Gniivi, Jenda and Ithklurs?

The rest of the races I can work out for the book from currently existing character generation articles and sourcebooks already published for Traveller, but I don't know if there are anything for the four races above. Your help in this would be greatly appreciated.

With Thanks,
Flynn

Flynn, you want to see some ruffs that I use for my non-1248 game? Steve the Gnivii (who's actual name is Ste-Stolon) is one of the more rad personalities in my five year mission (and it has been five years! We pick back up on 15 July)

Some of the Artwork is rocky placeholder stuff, but I would like to volunteer to do more for this, if we can make deadlines match up, and its not due tomorrow.

This is a rough impression. I have them as Masters of genetics and bioemulative cybernetics. They wear some sort of enviro-suits, are humanoid, and very, very peculiar to human sensibilities. This representation was done in much haste, but I want to develop them more.

The Gnivii ^

This was actually inspired by a corn muffin one morning in Ireland. I have one as an NPC on our ship. They are huge, and it has to crouch down some while in a normal hallway. I also gave them thier own styles of weaponry, designed for use with opposable style tentacles.

I see them as attaching symbiotically to the upper chest/collarbone area to its human partner, so it can see what's going on and interact, as "two voices and views" as opposed to a "Puppet Master" sort of Arrangement. The Lemura are "good guys" and serve as examples of how two species can co-exist in a not necessarily creepy fashion, and not as lame as they do with the Trill on Star Trek, where the slug is just the boss and the human is something pretty to look at.

These guys are physiologically human in all respects, but are unusual in that they are able to 100% able to co-exist with other species. I have only roughly outlined thier culture, but it is one that is very divergent from most human norms in many ways.

The relationship with the Teg is not a biological sybiosis, but an actual cooperative, agreed relationship of mutual support. The Cytrial is a good book. It gives them much in ways of cultural stability and also frees them to technical achievement by cooperation.

Bear in mind that a lot of these bits of stuff I had to do quickly, just to get them in the game. Like the Stalker up top, I plan to really take more time and comb out the look of them, and try to get a good look for them.

Ithklurs are both in the TNE Aliens of the Rim (presented in comic fashion) & GT Alien Module Hivers (presented in a less than comic fashion), if you need further details just PM me.

Lamura were done up in I think were done up in a Challenge Magazine article that dealt with a wandering Aslan merchant. <spoiler alert>True, the Lamura was really a robot but the stats ought to be pulled fromthat.

The Stalkers were also done in one of the GT Modules plus challenge.

Just what do you need to know and I can see what I can pull up.

By Done I assume you mean "scribbled out in two minutes", the afformentioned data if I recall is not exactly helpful, and an opportunity should be taken to really develop them.

Thanks, guys. At least I now have a place to start.

If you have more specifics on the references above, please let me know. It'll make searching for them easier.

Graci,
Flynn
