Well I am for once thankful for the American tourists in the queue for a train ticket at 7.50am this morning asking every bloody question under the sun because as a result I miss one of the trains that got hit.
I am also thankful because the train meant that I got trapped in a suburban town (I was going there for a 1 hr appointment) and I could not return to work until 4pm - so I got to have half a day off and see Batman Begins (and jolly good it was too)
Of course i'm outraged that London, my London was attacked by vermin but we knew it was coming and it was nowhere near the scale that the poor New Yorkers on 9/11 had to face. I am, of course, sorrowful for the 40+ who have died.
When I finally got back to the City of London all the bankers (who had left work early in the hope of getting home before the chaos of rush hour began) were saying 'Sh**, look at all the people on the street, lets go to the pub'. Consequently a good few pints of Young's Special were quaffed at the Lamb in Leadenhall Market - and very good they were too. I, of course, wanted London Pride, but it wasn't a Fuller's pub, so the old Pride was not available!
Love to you all.
Elliot
