Errata Tracker

I am opening up the squished errata to all now: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hga7aiozx7d9hqr/SquishedErrata.xlsx?dl=0

Outside of Don and other writers, it probably has only one value: to see if your errata has already been reported. But, that's a biggie. To that end, I changed the default sort order to be by page number.

For example, some idiot (me) posted the same errata for page 12.

This format should help prevent that. ;)

(If desired, you can download the file itself; I've included an Excel Filter for sorting. You have to have Excel 2010 or later. It does not include the macros, so there shouldn't be any security complaints.)

I added posts 81-90.

Also, I had previously duplicated posts 71-80 as 81-90. I've removed the duplicated.

Post 72 had an incorrect page number. I changed it from 41 to 40, as it should have been.

Finally, Dalthor, can you take a look at your post #83 (page 9 of the thread). I haven't gotten that far into my reading yet, so I can't tell if that post refers to 1 erratum on 3 pages, or 2 or 3 separate errata.

I have been using this to see if errata has already been added, your work is much appreciated by me. Thanks!

Thank, I appreciate the time! I really like helping, and I'm falling in love with the game again. Win-win!

I originally intended it for Don just so he could index things a bit. But, after I changed the sorting, well I've already found 3 errata that I would have posted, but didn't have to because someone already had. And, I didn't have to read through 100+ posts to find them.

Wow there's so many errors

I recently got my 5.09 update. I started reading how much errata there was and omissions too. I'm discouraged. Some posts on this forum don't even know what's missing or what the rules are in a few places. I put the game away for now and I'm going to be following this forum. I'm going to get back into it when it looks like there's a playable version. Am I the only one who feels this way? Maybe I'm missing something?

Actually, I'm very impressed by it. 750 pages with only 150 issues, and about half of those are simple typos. (55 are from me, and more than half of the ones I've picked out are typos. I'm guessing most of the others follow the same ratio, but I haven't actually counted them.)

That's less than one errata for each 5 pages. As an aside, I'm writing a book, and I wish I could write my book with so few errors. I had several thousand errors in my book with less than 200 pages.

The other thing that impresses me is how easy it reads now (compared to 5.0). Even in PDF format on a tablet, I'm able to follow through all the rules without much bouncing around. I'm only on page 486 in my reading, but I'm darned impressed!

(NOTE: I'm picking out every typo I see, and I'm trying to read carefully so I catch 80% of them. That's how I've produced 55 errata posts.)

Updated through post 210.

NOTE: One post was really 16 different errata, which I broke up. So there are a lot more lines added than just 10 posts' worth.

Tweak to page column: I added conditional formatting so that if any page number has more than one post pointing to it, the earlier post has tan shading.

NOTE: The last entry for any given page number is always unshaded. This is due to a quirk in how conditional formatting works, and can't be easily fixed. So, when you're looking for a page number among the posts, always look one post lower than the shaded posts.

Up-to-date through post 220.

Also, I changed the color of the cells in column C if the entry is part of the new set (in this case, post numbers 211 through 220). It's dynamic, so the last 10 posts should always be highlighted.
