Errata Tracker

Updated through post 210.

NOTE: One post was really 16 different errata, which I broke up. So there are a lot more lines added than just 10 posts' worth.

17, but that's OK. ;-)

Appreciate all the work done on your spreadsheet, thank you!

Let me know which one is really two and I'll fix that. (It's just a copy/insert/paste with slight tweaks.)

And thanks for the compliment!

Crumbs, DM, you want me to actually do some work?!?! (Serves me right for being facetious.) I just meant I counted 17 entries.

Ok, Ok, may the one on p 178 (about the "X" vs. a multiplication sign) is not counted (or counted in an earlier erratum).

Yeah, that was it. My program didn't recognize the first one because it thought it was the subject field. It's corrected now, and you officially got 17 in 1. I'm not sure if that deserves a medal or the guillotine. :)

NOTES:

I highlighted all new or changed cells bright yellow. The two important rows are 89 and 90 in the worksheet. (This highlighting will be removed the next time I update the workbook, assuming I remember.)

All the posts from 208b to 208p (column C) had their letter incremented by one. A new line for 208b was then added, to split up 208a and 208b.

I also changed column H, adding 1 to all "Post Order" entries from the 232 to 258, and then added a new 232.

----------------------------------------
For those who haven't been keeping up with this thread, column C has the original post number as it is recorded on the forum thread. If you sort by column C, the posts that have a number and a letter (like 208a above) will be out of order, as Excel treats them as text.

Column H holds a unique number corresponding to that line's post order, but including extra numbers (rather than letters) for posts with more than one errata per post. So, if you sort by column H, you get the broken up posts still lined up in the order they were posted.

The default sort order is by column D (page number referred to in the post).

I really don't find the errata tracker useful. Since I monitor it pretty regularly and update the unofficial errata...

Actually, I found the errata tracker to extremely useful. I am not wading through the entire thread every single time I find another error. And since there is no official log of bug reports, I'm either not going to bother reporting more errata, or I'm not going to worry about duplication.

OK, guys, I'll continue. I just won't focus on it being for Don.

(I was going to anyhow, since I made it for myself originally -- to keep from posting duplicates. :))

You shouldn't focus anything on me. If anything, at the moment I'm the weak link in the circle around Marc, until I fully get over the stroke.

My wife still panics when I hesitate in conversation, and she's probably in the right to do so.

Posts are listed through #250 now.

Reminder: The whole point of this tool now is to avoid writing a post that's a duplicate of a previous post. Look up the page number in the tool before typing out your errata post. If it's already there, you can skip it.
