Dragons

I'm not sure how Pan-Galactic Friends of Life will react to all your plans to kill dragons...;)

Fanark the PGFL!

And get that PGMP-14 up here, rookie!

Now, is the Tac Missile ready?! I want that right down its gullet, so let it get a good look before you shoot. Then, VRF troopers have at while the BattleDressed get the plasma guns in place.

Now, where the hells is the bloody IN FO?

... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy!

/pats trusty old gauss heavy hunting rifle

I really, really wish I could give you positive Rep for that... ;)

Reminds me about the time a reporter asked Ted Nugent if he liked vegetarians... ;)

Yeah. :)

It was such a good opening I couldn't pass it up, Detroit ain't that far from Hoosierland either, both physically and mentally. I was warned by a mod on another forum for trying to explain the midwest sense of humor, go figure.

I dunno. Call me crazy, but it seems to me that Traveller Dragons would be, how does one put it, above par when it came to armor against things like needle guns and high energy stuff.

Just me :D

How about this for a Traveller "Dragon"? ;)

In the words of Bugs Bunny..."Hey! Just a cotten pickin' minute! This doesn't look like the Coachella valley to me!"

Some ten to seven years back I thought about writing a short story about either a starship or a fighter going up against a robot dragon in space, but thought it was too corny. But you just reminded me of what my friend calls the Enterprise verses the Thanksgiving cornucopia episode. :)

Hrm...I found some robot dragon pics on "deviant art"'s website, but McAfee's giving me malicious software warnings. Oh well.

McAfee is well-known for introducing viruses (virii?) into host computers itself, so that's probably what that is about.

Install a different anti-virus and see if you still get warnings.

Not Traveller, but I've been wanting to run a post-WW1 game for a loooong time. Now out comes "Kaiser's Gate" and this is the cover image:

F/A-18? Fah! A REAL fighter pilot would duel a dragon with a Sopwith Camel!

The game I intend to run was going to be no-fantasy, near-historical, but between this and thinking about "Beowulf," I think I know how I'm going to end the game....

The Sopwith Camel was about the most maneuverable fighters ever built as long as you turned in the direction the motor was rotating and took advantage of that torque effect, so I would say that you have a reasonable chance of turning inside of the dragon.

Very cool.

Not to get too off topic, but it's my IP's freeware. I used to have Norton, but it was becoming a resource hog. At one time I had three security packages running on my machine, but all for naught.

The thing about it is that Deviant Art is where Wayne Peter's has his stuff.

Years back (late 90s?), Deviant Art was a site run out of Norway or Sweden, and the guys there said their art was cutting edge, new, sci-fi/fantasy oriented stuff, and that no one else was producing stuff like they were. But, all it was was a bunch of Nordic guys doing anime style drawings, and I told them so with one comment. Result; they banned me :D

Oh well. It's a major art hub now. More power to them.

A dragon with a Sopwith Camel? I thought they preferred to collect gold and damsels. ;)

I abandoned Norton for Avast for much the same reason... it works much better, and is free.

Hmm, I may regret this, but I'm contemplating on opening an RP thread down in the PBP section. And, it will include Dragons. My net may go down for a bit, so maybe it's not such a good idea right just now.

I'll keep everyone posted.
