Danger Space

Maybe there is something fishy about how they work, and apparantly my stray thought on how that might be checked don't work very well. I'm not totally surprised. ;)
Well, it doesn't really matter in the long run how you figure it - it's just my programmer's brain took exception to the fact that things were different at different scales...

cheers,

I autohit, kind of. With Area Effect Weapons, at least, as opposed to autofire.

For grenades and such, the to-hit determines scatter; any hit by 1+ is a contact hit; a hit by 0 (exact needed) is simply

The Effective Hit Level is 1d6-range bands from Center for non-filling (shrapnel). For area filling (Lasers, plasmas, concussive explosives), I use a x1 for level of hit.

For Autofire, each secondary target is rolled for at +1 DiffMod (non-cumulative) linearly until either hits = bullets or out of danger space or out of Autofire Targets, noting that each roll on a target is an autofire target.
(imagine these on a 1.5m per line grid)
A
B
C
D . . . . . . . . . . . . . .X
E
F
G

X fires at D, with a 1.5m AF3rd DS.
Rolls say, difficult for D. He can either sweep left 1.5m or right 1.5m, or hold on D.
Secondary targets are at formmidable (show by a +)
If he hits with first one, he then declares direction and rolls per target. At 1, he rolls D, E+ or D C+
At two, he rolls: D D+ E+ E+ or D D+ C+ C+
At three, he rolls D, D+ D+, and either E+E+E+ or C+C+C+
In any case, he rolls until out of targets or rounds. Now, if he declared, D, 1, and used a 3m DS... He'd roll sequentially on D, E+ F+ or D C+ B+.
