Computer games that inspire your Traveller game

We already have done the thread about which computer games are most Traveller like. But, I would be interested to know which games you have adapted into a Traveller game. I know that DOOM & Captain Goldstone has appeared appeared more than once in a particular Traveller game. How about the rest of the board?

None yet, but the following should be useful:

- System Shock 1 and 2 (corporate/tech horror glore, plus a very cool space station)
- Martian Gothic ("haunted" outpost on a world with Atmosphere-2, [former] POP-1 and [former] Gov-1)
- Nomad (a good source for ideas for interesting and bizzare trade goods)
- Alien Legacy (STL colony ship enters a presumably inhabitated star system for find it abandoned)
- X-Com series (a good place to get ideas for new PSI-powers from, plus the tactical combat system was possibly inspired by AHL)
- Hidden Agenda (political ideas for a backwater planet)
- Descent (TNE, the Virus takes possession of the mining robots in a star system)
- Jagged Alliance (a merc ticket)
- UFO: Aftermath (full of ideas for Hiver organic and pseudo-organic tech)
- Thief series (TL3-TL4 taken to the extreme)
- Elite series, especially Frontier: First Encounters (almost Traveller by itself; full of useful ideas)
- Starflight series, especially Starflight 2 (ditto; also, a very good trade system to inspire modification to the LBB2 one)

By the way, who/what is Captain Gladstone? This name sound familiar, but I don't recall from where.

Of those, I don´t know System Shock, Nomad, Hidden Agenda or Starflight, but I wholeheartedly second the other suggestions.

I´d also add Alpha Centauri and the X series.

Bits from StarCraft have popped up, as have certain missions from I.War and its sequals.

Freelancer is another one that I've borrowed from.

Uh...um...

...the only computer games I play are called Solitaire and Hearts. Not a lot of inspiration there.

I draw ideas from movies, or from these old dusty paper things called books.

Dark Forces, Jedi Knight .
Dune 2000
Birth of the Federation
SW Rebellion (which has supplanted chess in our house, it is on every computer)
Star Trek Aramda
Star Trek New Worlds
ST Academy

see a pattern?

Imperium Galactica II, X2 and of course Elite.

UFO/X-Com series. Interesting note...I read somewhere that the tactical combat is based on the Megatraveller computer games. Can now play this as a PBEM as Laser Squad Nemesis (but not on a mac  :( )

don't you have to pay royalties for borrowing that many ideas? ;)

damn! I thot this was the computer games I just play! I get no real inspiration I guess, X-com made me want to to go England to join Shado, but thats a bout it. Games are damn fun tho...

I sure do have Starfleet Command, Randy! we should set up a game!

If so, where can I get a windoze version?
I think it was written for the BBC Micro originally. I've probably still got it on 5.25" floppy somewhere...

I'm sure there's a free Win version available.

There were plenty of BBC emulators out there but the best work with MAC OS X or Linux.

I'm about to give Oolite a test flight, thanks Aramis.
