Okay, it's not really Bebop's theme, but I can't think about Spike, Jet, and friends without hearing this in my head.

And on a related note, when people ask me, "What's Traveller like?" I show them this.

Big thumbs-up on that one. I always imagine an expedition exploring some semi-intact Precursor Ultra-tech Ruins or Colossal Relic Megastructure when I hear it.

read an article that indicated whatever was happening when you were 12 is your definition of the best of pop culture. I was 14 when Superman came out and I think that is the best theme (technically comic book but he is from another planet)

though a lot of the ones listed here are really good, the theme from Superman can still make the hairs of my arms stand up.

Gee, that's too bad -- I don't recall reading much science fiction when I was 12. Star Wars hit I was 14-15. I certainly knew about Star Trek though, having bought the blueprints and, I think, "World of Star Trek" book (which was about the show, pretty much). I didn't really start reading SF until senior year in high school.
