I would ask the following questions as a QLI customer.
Why has Hunter disappeared once again? Personal circumstances can and do pop up but disappearing and leaving problems to escalate (be it problems with ordering or recieving product, Moot subscriptions and access or a host of other issues) has become a far too regular occurrence over the last couple of years. It takes little more than a few minutes to make a post to the board and to give an update or to inform customers of what is going on. This is the minimum commitment I would expect an owner to make in regards to his business. If the owner seems to be willing to allow his company to "go to the dogs" in such a fashion I have absolutely no confidence in that company. I won't spend my money on something I believe to be a risk (and after reading the complaints on this board - thats what I believe it to be... a risk). Yes previous issues have been resolved but when I purchase something I like to do so with the confidence that if an issue does arise it will not take months of futile chasing and "where is Hunter?" e-mails that none can respond to.
Why no contact with those who are/where working on QLI's only published product? Due to lack of communication and it appears commitment on Hunters part 2320AD is now without an Editor, Writer or Artists. The most prolific QLI author appears to be chasing for unpaid loyalities and has also encountered a distinct lack of communication... as a customer I get worried when I read such posts, you know the whole confidence thing. Why no attempt to address the problems by Hunter and to reassure his customers that QLI is not "going down the pan"?
On another note... the whole domain issue. It appears that the CotI domain licence will expire soon but no word from on high as to if it will be renewed. As the domain holder Hunter must know this and people have started to question what is happening but suprise, suprise no answer has been forthcoming with regards to domain renewal. The reason I bring this up is that it appears that Moot subscriptions are still being taken (and possibly auto renewed) which means people may be paying for something that may not even be around in a months time... once again it does my confidence no good in QLI that such an issue has not been addressed. I'm not risking my cash on a Moot subscription that currently has minimal benefits at best and may not be around very soon.
Due to the above issues QLI has missed out on me opening my wallet on the following...
Any non 2320AD material
Any 2320AD material
Moot Subscription
a pretty sizable amount of cash.
Now the above may be harsh - is it a personal attack on Hunter? No, it is what I, as a QLI customer, see as legitimate concerns which I would like to see addressed. I have been a member of these boards since 2003 and have purchased a number of QLI products in the past but my trust in QLI is now non existent.
Questions need answering otherwise as far as QLI goes my wallet will stay closed and I will take my business elsewhere.
