The Hexan-Cat is a relatively smaller scale, tamer version of its larger wilder cousin (Sz-Small (25kg) Spd 18m) the Hexosian Alpine Wildcat, or 'Rockcat' as the natives call it, from its craggy lairs along steep mountainsides. Found on Hexos/Tobia. Domesticated by an enteprenuerial Belter long ago, and the cute little cusses became a starport sensation for resale to pet stores. Unfortunately for other feline breeders, the H-cat breeds only with its own kind, and has been known to kill even members of its species not of the same fur color. Despite this, they make admirable mousers/ rodent killers aboard starships, and tend to give their loyalty to only a handful of folk. Other positive/negative felinoid traits are exhibited as well...

I like that one.

The scientific name should be "Felis Hexosi (or Hexosii, I´m not completely certain) Domesticus", if you stick to the established nomenclature. You always go from the more common to the more specific: Cat - from Hexos - domesticated.

Our domesticated cats, BTW, are "Felis Silvestris Forma Catus": Felis means "cat", "silvestris" means "of the forest", or "living in the forest"; "forma" means "shape" and "catus" means "smart". As the undomesticated cat is simply "Felis silvestris", I assume the last two words mean they´re "shaped" (i.e. bred into different "races") and smarter (i.e. capable of domesticating their owners)

Thanx Chaos!

My latin is more than rusty, its positively non-existent. :(

Hmmm. Felis Hexosii Domesticus :D Okay! Can fix that! ;)
