Hello all,

Per the refit rules on CT Adventure 5 TCS p. 34 a major refit replaces the jump drive, power plant, and maneuver drive.

Wouldn't refitting a spinal mount be a major change to the hull since the weapon can not be increased in tonnage like the jump drive, power plant, and maneuver drive?

Especially since by definition it forms the spine of the ship. Or, alternately, the ship is built around the spine.

On the other hand, the tunnel might be different from the mechanism.

Since you're the referee, you can justify either way.

Yes and no - the spinal can be pulled out its own maw and another of same or smaller tonnage slid in. It's not major, but like the drives, it must be done so as to not increase tonnage.

Thank you for your answer to my question about why a spinal mount is not a major refit.
